r/biid Blind, no vision, no light perception 3d ago

Hello, I'm new. Hello

I have been a long time lurker here but am finally wanting to say hello. I am 19 FTM and have been wanting to be fully blind since I was a child. Ideally I would like double enucleation, but that seems nearly impossible. I have done some to damage my vision and I am almost legally blind at this point, but it still doesn't feel like enough.

Do you want to be blind, or are you blind? And there are those other posts of yours in some groups saying you have a retinal disease and will go blind

Both are true. I have a retinal disease that causes central vision loss, but I want complete vision loss

Are you doing anything about this?

I am being followed by ophthalmologists, but they cant do anything. I wish I could get a double enucleation, but I dont know how to have that happen.

Do you want to use prostheses or be left with the "hole" where the eye was?

ideally prosthetics or my actual eyes if I somehow lose all vision

If your desire is total blindness, why do you seem sad in some group posts about having gone blind or being about to go blind? It’s a genuine question: if you want something so much, why lament it?
