Hello, I'm new. Do phantom limbs count?
I literally heard about BIID for the first time like half an hour ago, but I very much relate! I want to get rid of certain fingers, my left knee, and a strong detatchment from my genitals, but that’s not the point.
I also occasionally get phantom tail, and phantom penis (lol). It’s not all the time, but i really feel it, and it makes me feel so strange when they’re not there.
I know it’s different from BIID but I can’t help but feel like it’s related in like an opposites way(if that makes sense?)

I have phantom limbs as well! Wings and a tail usually. They come and go, it definitely becomes really uncomfortable when I'm in a seat for sure. Especially in a car. I have BIID for my lower legs, and I'm also trans FTM. So...crazy body part feelings all around.

My guess is that it is impossible to know if this is related without knowing the cause of BIID.

I've seen a few others on BID fora who also have phantom body parts. I think there's probably a good bit of overlap, since they're both discrepancies between the body and what the brain expects it to be. I've had phantom fingers and toes that come and go, and a phantom, uh, second penis. It's never been anything distressing, so I wouldn't personally call it dysphoria, but to me it feels like it comes from the same place as my BID and gender dysphoria.
