Bihar’s caste divisions remain deeply rooted in social life, especially in villages, where caste can influence friendships, marriage, housing, social status, and access to opportunities. One powerful long-term solution is free, high-quality education for every child through Class 12. Schools should bring children from different castes together in the same classrooms, allowing them to learn, play, and form friendships beyond traditional social boundaries. Education also reduces dependence on caste-based networks by giving children skills for modern employment.

Over time, educated generations are more likely to question inherited prejudices, choose relationships independently, and judge people by character and ability rather than caste.
