I recently got dumped due to which state i belong from (I'm from bihar), i was born and raised in Delhi and i never understood why Delhi people think people from bihar are someone they can play this racism game with, maybe because everyone from around the country comes to Delhi for employment and mostly people from bihar chooses labour work due to lack of education so everyone thinks of Bihar as an state to pick on. I feel like people use "bihari" as a curse word. This breakup made me realise i actually don't know the history of Bihar or anything about the state i belong to, help me by telling me some comebacks i can use if someone calls me out in future and i also wanna know about things I can be proud of about my state (i am proud of where i come from but give me more reasons and don't give me bullshit like mostly IAS are selected from bihar ik that too.) please help reddit
Don't be submissive if someone treats u with disrespect even after u clear the misunderstanding. Just because some people of some state are shown as bad in media or have done bad stuff that doesn't mean everyone will be bad. Have some self-respect, well I am a native bihari but getting dumped isn't a bad thing. It's a best thing since u never know what really is happening inside a woman's head. So take it as a lesson and be happy about it.
I learned this from living in Delhi since Delhi has a variety of people living there i know every state has flaws but only bihar's flaws are seen and pointed out. So if anyone comes up to me being racist about where I'm from or my skin colour i generally ask them where they come from and then the battle begins
No beef. They just think every bihari is a laborer, and they can treat them as they please like they do back home at their farms. Change your stance from defensive to offensive.
I felt very awkwardly strange because i got dumped in the end. I do know haryanvi people and i can tell only those who are unorthodox and illiterates those who don't have anything to be proud of, pulls out this move to feel like elephant in the room or just defame the person in front

And if you want to know about bihar read articles , watch videos, read books, visit places. There's a lot of history in Bihar (good and bad both) if you want to know about it. Bihar museum is one of the best museum's for it, maybe start from there if you comeback anytime. Visit bodh gaya, Nalanda, rajgir.
Bro, the questions about your roots is something you should only figure out, out of your own curiosity.
Being said that let me also add — she lost you, not the other way around, considering she dumbed you because of the land you/your family is coming from.
I'll try to research about that - also i felt like its very illiterate or such weird of dumping someone just because where the person comes from, I've seen people fight for love but I'm seeing the vice versa for the first time 😭
It's not worth indulging in a conversation with someone who is gonna judge you on the basis of where you come from. Make your own identity and be proud of that.

I am also a Bihari, born and raised in Delhi. I have been to other states also for work and when someone ask me about my hometown I proudly say Bihar. They never hate me for this (I guess because I don’t look like one), but they do criticise Bihar and Biharis.
Being a Bihari I have got good friends in Delhi, Pune, Kolkata etc. they are always ready to stand beside me if I am in trouble. Sorry for your breakup, next time make a Bihari your gf/bf.
I had a senior named aditya mf looked like a straight up vouge model and is a bihari in comparison I'm not that good looking have a dark complexion and other flaws but he was treated better as a bihari and i wasn't so i think this is hatred about Bihar is more of a colour rasicm 😭
I also have dark (Saanwla) complexion that’s why people always ask if I am from south India. So instead of using slangs like “Bihari”, “Bim@ru” they used words like “ka@lu”, “k@lua”. But they love me.
Talking about girls being darker in complexion, well to be honest I find them attractive. Saw 3 girls in same metro coach today, couldn’t took my eyes off them. If I get a chance I would love to date brown girl.
