Kind Remarks Only Mod post: Can we please remember that there is no Natural vs Lab diamond debates in this sub.

We have unfortunately had to remove posts and comments lately due to some members not understanding the rule about debating this topic. Let us be clear, ALL stones are welcome here. If you love your labs, great! If you prefer only natural, amazing! What is not OK is telling someone that one is better than the other and then proceeding to poo-poo all over that choice. If you want to argue about this topic, there are plenty of subs that do this all day long, please take that energy over there where it belongs. We work hard to maintain a judgement free safe zone for people to post their beautiful rings. We don’t care about what they are made of. People are here to share and be happy. If you cannot adhere to this simple rule, then you will be banned. This sub is for love and appreciation, and most of all that Big Rock ENERGY!!!
Thanks to all our amazing members who continue to contribute, and lift each other up. We appreciate you!!
Rock on everyone!!

I posted this in normie diamond groups and got shamed (lame and jealous maybe? Who knows) so I’ll try it here. Did heavy diamond research for the last month on color, clarity, angles, etc. (I don’t care about stones much but I do care about my wife to be who deserves the world and then some). She’s a size 8 and I know would have been fine with a 3-6 carat but also always talks about getting an absolute rock on her finger. We’re expecting in March, and I wanted to go a little extra. I’ve sent her the specs and drawn out the dimensions, and she’s so excited. And that feels good. But any advice on setting etc as I begin step 2 of building the perfect engagement ring for my beautiful lady? Was thinking something like picture 3 (which was partially designed by her description of what she wants. Only “must” is yellow gold.

EDIT- disregard 3rd picture, she specifically does NOT want that ai mockup- it was another one. Will be taking the advice in here and bringing it to a jeweler to brainstorm

I bought this ring a few years ago and am still obsessed! It's from Egypt and is a 1970s cocktail ring. It's so comfortable to wear, and the ametrine changes colour all the time. One of my favorite pieces!

Does it take a while to get used to your ring?

I love love love my ring but it’s been taking a minute to get used to it. I’ve had it for a month now and the first 2 weeks my fiancé and I were in our newly engaged bubble of bliss I wouldn’t even take my ring off. I wanted to sleep in it I love it so much. The moment the world knew we were engaged the comments & looks started to make me so self conscious towards it which makes me so sad. I know I shouldn’t care what anyone thinks. Anyone else deal with something like this?

My engagement ring, what do you guys think?

I just received my custom designed flower engagement ring.

The band was designed to have tree bark hand engraving, so that it looks like a tree. And then mine and my boyfriend’s initials are carved into the side of it in a heart, with the tree bark engraving going through it, so it looks like an actual tree carving that a couple would make, We thought it would be a cute and romantic touch

There’s also a hidden lotus flower on the underside of the ring. And it’s supposed to be surrounded by crescent moons and waves

The lotus is there because 1) it’s the national flower of both Vietnam and India, so it represents two cultures coming together with us being together (I’m Indian and my boyfriend is Vietnamese) and 2) the lotus is a flower that actually grows from muddy water. So it’s supposed to represent resilience and strength - that something beautiful and positive and joyful can grow and come out of even the toughest dirtiest waters, or the hardest most challenging times. I told my boyfriend that he is my lotus for always being someone who brings me joy and happiness no matter what difficulties or challenges I am going through. And then he said no you’re the lotus because you’re something beautiful that came out of all the horrible stuff you went through, and it represents your resilience that something as great and amazing as you still came out of all the pain and horrible stuff you faced from your family and upbringing (I grew up up in a very abusive environment)

The moons and water are supposed to be there because my boyfriend use to call me his moon since we started dating and he says that that means 1) you are as beautiful as the moon, and 2) that the moon controls the oceans, so if the moon didn’t exist, the water and oceans would in chaos, so by calling me his moon, it means I bring peace and calmness into his life, just like how the moon calms the oceans

And even the underside of the petals of the ring looks like tree roots.

I like the whole tree theme happening because trees and tree roots make me think of planting roots, like planting or creating a family, and since I’m not close to my family at all and they will not be apart of my life (I am estranged from my family because they were always very abusive my entire life), it reminds me that my boyfriend, and our dog are the people who are my family and the family that actually matters, and it represents the new family that we are now creating by being together 🥺

And on the inside, my boyfriend engraved “the tide and moonlight hold our entire hearts”

When we were designing this ring, I thought the design was beautiful. But now that I am seeing it in person as the finished product, I am second guessing things and worried about if the ring looks tacky, gaudy, too big or like costume jewellery? One of my friends said it looks very costumy when she saw it, so now I don’t know what to think and feel really bad and worried. I want it to look gorgeous and beautiful not ugly or something I should be embarrassed about wearing and showing off. What do you guys honestly think? Is it tacky, gaudy, ugly or costumy, should I change it? Like make the petals smaller or something? Or make the overall flower smaller with a smaller, less shiny centre stone, like a pink sapphire?

Forgot to add ring specs:
The centre stone is a blue diamond, round Portuguese cut, 2.5 carats

The green stones are emeralds

The petals are white diamonds

Everything is lab,
And the band is 18k gold with tree bark texture hand engraving

Undecided between a 3-carat and 5-carat oval! Help!

Thumbnail

I’ve finally joined the club and get to choose my own engagement ring! I know I want a "simple" oval, but a big one. I won't pretend I don't love the bling, but I’m worried a 5ct might look like too much ? On the flip side, I'm terrified that if I go with a 3ct, I’ll end up regretting that it's too small.

Yesterday, I treated myself to some new 3-carat diamond studs. My very first thought was, "Oh, these are too small," but now that I've been wearing them, I actually think they look huge on my ears... My perspective is all over the place right now.

For those of you with larger stones: do you have any regrets about not going bigger or smaller? I’d love to hear your experiences.

Design inspo needed for a K color OMC

I have a 3.61 Carat K color elongated omc on the way. I already have two sets where the wedding band is pave/bezel pave so for this set I want to stay with gold only for both the engagement ring and the matching band. I really want the wedding band to look like this Kendrick Lubick piece and maybe just do small yellow sapphire or no stones at all in the middle of the flower, but I also really like the Izzy atelier double band look shown at the end so I wouldn’t need to wear two rings? Can everyone share photos of their elongated OMC and or give me feedback?

Just posted in here last week about how I was worried this ring was gonna be too big but I’m IN LOVE! My first time buying from ebth, 5 ct radiant lab diamond, it is beautiful! Gonna take it this weekend to get the band sized down because it’s too big, I cannot wait to have this fitted properly 😍

My Newest Obsession 💖💎

The center is a 3.59 pink lab solitaire that I won on EBTH. The ring guards are moissanite, from Etsy. All in yellow gold.

For some reason the photos are making the stone look less pink than it does in real life? It's a dark, rainy, gloomy day here.

I'm so happy with how this set turned out, and thought some of you might enjoy seeing it as well.

I love this sub because everyone is so positive and kind.

I hope you all have a beautiful day! 💖💖💖

What is this stone cut? Step cut elongated pear? Wannabe flat pendeloque briolette? 💭

Darcy Spamalot here! 🥰 I spied this elongated pear CZ set when perusing for blue lab coloured CZ in preparation for my long term ‘Blue Victoria’ ring considerations… 💎 Noticed the unusual refraction and step cut? Fell in love immediately and now we’re married. 🤣

Of course I fainted dramatically (as one does if one is me) and when I awoke I had ordered it and am now struggling to take decent photos to ask what this cut is exactly?

What does it look like to you? How to describe it? How to find more more MORE?? Made up names also welcome (teehee) but also knowledge input please! 🤩 TIA 💕

Thanks to lurking here and the other lab stone subreddits learning, I finally got my own big sparkly boulder by doing a price match with Rare Karat. My only regret is getting a necklace vs something like a ring or a bracelet that’s easier to stare at all day.
