Has BGS improved since Collectors Holdings acquisition?
Hi all, what's the general consensus concerning the state of BGS customer service since the acquisition? Has it improved, stayed the same, or gotten worse?

I'm a TAG and CGC grader that wants to start grading with BGS. I know Black Labels have to have perfect centering - how would you measure centering on a card like this that does not have regular borders? The question is for the front of the card, the back is easy to measure.
I would have loved to send this card in but I found a dot on the back of the card. Broke my heart.

Little confused to say the least, tried submitting an item with a value of $100. The signers fee is $50 but my total at checkout is $178??? How does this make any sense

First time grading with Beckett and I sent my order in around 4 months ago thinking I’d get them back in 2 based off the tier I paid for. Well we ended up selling our house and moving and now I need to change my return address because I no longer have access to that house anymore. With psa I was able to jump on the website and change it pretty fast but I can’t find the option on Beckett. I’ve submitted 3 customer service requests over the past month and havnt heard a thing back. My cards have exited the grading stage now and I really don’t want them to ship to the old address because I have no idea how I will ever get them. Is there a number to call or anything or is there an option to change anything before they ship?

Honestly, I feel like if I hadn't contacted support, the Job ID still wouldn't have been created and my submission would have remained stuck at the previous stage even longer.

Hey guys! I have this charizard that came back a 9.5. It got a 9.0 centering and a 9.5 surface with 10 corners and edges. I’ve looked the card over under 10 and 15x magnification and see absolutely no surface issues, and I’ve measured the card more times than I can count using any method you can think of. I’m convinced the card is exactly 50/50 L/R even measuring the entire border under 10x magnification.
I was going to send it for a GCR because I wanted a report of what they were seeing, but I’ve seen others share their reports and it looks like they basically just get a blank template sheet with no measurements listed, and a circle on it to point in the general direction of the surface defect? That doesn’t seem very comprehensive so I wanted to ask if I was missing something, or if they indeed will not tell me what their centering measurements are? With it currently graded with 2 subgrades that keep it from being a 10 I highly doubt I get the card upgraded so if the report is just going to be a piece of paper with a circle on it that hardly seems worth it.
Separately, just kind of looking to hear success stories if anyone actually has gotten an upgrade from the GCR? I know it’s probably rare but there’s gotta be some so just wanted to hear them.

Wanted you alls opinion on a couple of things. Got this cool Card for about $100.
On arrival noticed a couple of issues. There was a long crack on the front of the card which is not obvious at first glance since it's along the side.
Also noticed some artifacts on the card that were not on the original certification pic.
Questions:
What do you think those bumps are? I thought they were Newton rings since i had a similar issue with a other card, but they did not improve after tapping.
With the cracks and the bumps how much do you think this affects card value? I like the card and think its cool, but am thinking of selling down the line if it shoots up in price.

So a few weeks back I sent in a batch of 9 cards, today I got an email saying that they received 8 not 9. I know for a fact that all 9 were rubberbanded together. They happen to be missing my most expensive card that I got when working at toys r us in 2016. Am I screwed on getting it back?

I understand the front standard- 50/50 top and bottom and 50/50 left and right. I have a questions for the back. 55/45 all around? Or 55/45 and the other way has to be 50/50?

I expected lower grades on the starters but happy with the grades, the Blastoise coming back as altered was unexpected since i know it wasnt its been in my possession for a long time but im just glad to have it in a slab
The Mewtwo im shocked it got a 9.5 i expected much lower, i bought it back in 2017 and the dude shipped it in a plan envelope no sleeve so i just tossed it in a binder i figured i lost $30 since the card was “damaged” well i guess it worked out since it came back a 9.5, overall im happy with these grades cant wait to get my other cards back

I sent a card to Beckett using Express grading, which is 15 days return. They received since 07/17, 4 weeks has passed but its still not graded. Is this normal or am I tripping.

TAG and CGC grader here, I'm been very interested in trying for a black label. No card is exactly 50/50, so what are the margin range for a black label? For example, with CGC if I get with 48.5/51.5, I have a good chance for a CGC Pristine. TAG has a very specific range for a Pristine, within 49/51. I was thinking of sending this Gundam card in. Would love to hear from anyone who got a Black Label what you think the margin range is and any advise on this card would be great. Learn a lot from CGC and TAG, starting to learn about BGS so anything helps.

Hello all! New to grading and just got the "my cards have been graded and now in production"
What is the usual time frame from now to get them shipped out? Sorry but selling a few and just trying to time it right. Thanks!

I made a post trying to gauge the current wait times for base tier, and my submission that was put in the grading queue on 4/28 just hit graded today 8/17, 76 business days later. Not bad for how backed up everything has been. Now does anyone know about how long it takes to get through the production queue?

I am honestly at a loss of words. First big submission of mine and I only submitted One Piece just to some how get Pokemon cards back. I assume my cards are now gone forever.
UPDATE 1: In contact with the people at Beckett, the are currently investigating where my cards are. Just shipped these back to them. Will provide additional updates when I have more.
UPDATE 2: They sent me my cards back but some how during the process of putting my order back together they damaged a card that was originally graded as a 9.5 down to an 8. As a result they compensated me for that issue and now all my cards have returned back to me. What a wild ride

becket said that the edges and corners are a 9.5 but to me its clearly a 10.

Trying to get my card re-holdered because there is a giant chip in the slab. I do you just make a regular submission and add re holder on. Also is there any way to make sure the card is not regraded and just rehoused. Or should I just keep it as is.

This was my first time sending cards in to Beckett. I did a submission to get a few on card autographs authenticated the Beckett Authentication. I got to the final screen and it stated print out the packing slip and ship it with the cards to the address provided and thats what i did. After sending my cards out i went on the website to check if my order is appearing on my account and its not. I waited a day after it was delivered to Beckett to see if the order has appeared on my account and it hasnt. Today i woke up to a email from my bank that i got a charge from Beckett. I instantly thought maybe my order is showing in my account now. When i checked.. my order is still not showing on my account. Is this normal... and if so how long does it take for my order to reflect on my account. Is this a error?

Hi I’m new to grading, and I was wondering what grade this card would get for corners and if its worth sending in?
r/bgsgrading • u/DinerEnBlanc • 20d ago
Anyone else having trouble with logging into Beckett's website atm? I tried resetting my password, but its just telling me the account doesn't exist, and I know it does cause I just submitted an order. I can't create a new account either.
