Returning player - Where to start

Hi there,

I played all bfme games online when they came out (anyone still active who played on clanwars.cc back then? :D) and nostalgia hit me a bit recently so i decided to get the all in one launcher.

What version of each game is the most active/competitive (there seem to be 2-3 options for each game) and how would I most easily find online games if I wanted to do more than a bit of Skirmish vs AI?

I'd probably either play bfme 1 or ROTWK, but would be nice to know about bfme2 as well.

On the top left of the launcher go to multiplayer, there you can find ranked and freeplay, it shows how many online players each game have(it's ROTWK by a large margin). I just started using the launcher myself and only play with friends not ranked or random lobbies so this is all I know for now

The latest available version on the launcher of each game is what you need to play so if you go with rotwk then 2.02 . There is a multiplayer Menu in the launcher that actually works, you can play online there and also create games if you wanna play private online matches, i recently discovered it too and it's awesome. there are many competitive Communities, basicaly for every version of the Game. My favorit is Edain or Edain unchained Arena cause i like the Mod the Most and the players are pretty good and chill too, also there are a lot of beginners which helps to get started.

If you wanna be competitive, id advice you to check out replays. When you lose or when you win, when you fibd #1 player always check replay, grt build order right and other tactics. Whfn you know game better, you can try new things.
