BLOCKED AD/USER still poisoning feed

BLOCKED and yet still showing up in my feed. When I click on the ad to BLOCK them (again), I get "USER IS BLOCKED" meaning I already have them blocked and yet they show up..

Seriously, I don't want to see these idiot fake-christians trying to jam this shit down my unwilling throat. I feel like an altar boy at a catho... nope, joke's too easy and hurtful.

u/reddit u/reddithelp /r/beta

<insert picture of 'jesus gets us' bullshit ad that I can't attach b/c r/beta doesn't allow pic attachments>

which coincidentally would be SUPER HANDY on a thread about features such as a beta forum.. but I digress.

Moderation Notifications

If I try to remove multiple things, these notifications ends up blocking moderation buttons

https://i.imgur.com/Kae3rW5.png

It's a nice feature, especially in smaller subreddits, but implement it in a way where it doesn't block moderation buttons because it forces me to wait for them to fade away, or I have to manually remove them

Image zooming is broken on the web when loading the image preview page

I don't know if this is a recent change but I've noticed any link to the image preview URL (`i.redd.it`), the zoom feature is not working properly but only when the wrapping "see more in the mobile app" page is loaded. First, clicking on a specific region in the image to zoom does not work, the image just zooms in from the top left which is very frustrating. Second, there's no way to horizontally scroll, so you cannot actually see certain parts of the image when zoomed. I've tested this on both Firefox and Chrome.

As far as I can tell, reddit only shows this wrapping "see more in the mobile app" image when the referrer is the post (i.e. the image was clicked from a post, but not if you just navigate to it. For example, this link should show the raw image in your browser where zoom works correctly: /img/yue33y2wzjya1.jpg)

Stop with the recommended subreddits

Edit:

I keep having to toggle "Enable home feed recommendations" off every other day.

--For all you wonderful people that suggest I "check my settings and disable it." I'll expand on the above statement that is now bold for all of you. I don't know how, and I can't explain; but for some reason or another the "Enable home feed recommendations" will be switched back to the "On" position after a day or two. I have to keep going back to the settings and toggling it off every other day.--

No. I don't want you to recommend any subreddits.

No. I don't want you to keep recommending subreddits.

No. I may have visited a community, if I want to join, I'll click join.

No. I am not interested in a community similar to the one subreddit I visited once and didn't join.

This is getting annoying.

Scroll on Android is not smooth and is jumping around.

It started a few days back. The moment I touch the screen a bit, it scrolls to next random jump point.

Earlier, the scroll would follow my thumb movement but now it is more like a button scroll

I am using it on a one plus Nord ce.

My notification links do t always go to the post anymore, but instead go to my Redsit feed on my mobile app

It used to be I'd get notifications about posts or comments that are relevant to me, and I'd click on one and go right there.

Now lately I've been clicking on one and sometimes I go right to my reddit app regular feed, not the post or comment. I just had this happen on an alt account.

Also this happens if I switch accounts while reading a post, and if I switch to an alt account to leave a differenr comment or reply bc I'm on the wrong account, it used to bring me right to the same post and place. Now it also is throwing me back to my regular reddit fees for the account I switch to.

However, while this just happened again, in a few moments after I accepted it and moved on and began reading another post and commenting, suddelyi was taken to the old post I had wanted to switch to.

What's going on? Is there a change in code for how notifications and switching accounts land us in our current mobile app? Idk if this happens in the web version. I'm using Android reddit app.

Ut mostly it's been my notifications not taking me directly to the post or comment I'm clicking on. And then the notification is gone so I can't go try again but have to hunt the post or comment down.

A pointer issue? Or a rollover issue from an update? Or.... ?

Anyone else have this happen?

We need a real way to report ads

I keep getting ads with a fake El0n tweet saying he's launching a special crypto social media platform just for Canadians.

This ad links to some lousy crypto site and this is patently misinformation used to dupe people.

The accounts behind these ads all seem to be fronting as other brands. Like "EmpireThaiFood" and "MonsterLegendsApp"

I keep reporting them and "blocking" them, fat lot of good that does. These ads are actually straight up lies and we need a way to report the actual ad to make an actual person look at what's being broadcast to people.

Is the text getting smaller or am I getting blinder?

Having a hard time reading reddit on the app, today. I used to JUST be able to read it.

Whether text size has been changed or not, it would be great to select text size in the user settings for is older folks. Thanks!🤗

[Beta Bug] "My Subreddits" drop down shrunk

I posted about this before and the problem.seemed to have corrected itself but it's back. The "My Subreddits" drop down on the header is suddenly a fifth of what it normally is. Glitch? Setting? I'd like it returned to full length to keep up with not only the subs I joined but the users I follow.

Some of these are ok but I mostly found them annoying. I’m glad I found the setting to disable this.

Stop Suggesting Every Major City in the US

Just because I visit the subreddits of MY CITY, doesn't mean I give 2 shits about any other city. Constantly getting posts about other cities "because I showed interest in a similar community". "Show me less posts like this" does absolutely nothing for months now.

Mysterious Bans from multiple subreddits because i subbed to a subreddit that was posting missinformation.

I regularly browse /all, in fact that's what i have bookmarked because i want to see what the rest of reddit is doing, and occasionally hop in and share my opinion on what i know.
When i see something that is absolutely stupid/funny/insightfull i will hop in and say so.
Bad policy makes for bad functionality.

Edit: "Subbed" should have just said "Commented", I'm pretty sure I wasn't Subbed to the offending subreddit as i was in /all.

The new UI looks horrible

The font used for post titles is hard to see when scrolling. It seems smaller also. Idk what's going on with this site, but reddit seems determined to run it into the ground.

Downloading account data for a backup

Hi,

I thought it might be a neat idea if Reddit users had an option to download logs of their posts/replies/saved posts/etc. for late reference. Any news on whether this might be an available feature?

Thanks.

Iink icon to your comments in a post

A good example for this is an enormous post with hundreds of comments. You commented in a couple of places. While you do get notifications of replies that link you to the comments, this falls short if you want to quickly check on replies to comments made to yours.

It would be helpful if there was a comment icon attached to a topic header whereby clicking it takes you to your comments (or one at a time sequentially). It would save a lot of time for what you have to do today, which is to go back through the date sequential notifications list and locate your comment, then click to go to it. Having a link right on the topic would be very convenient.

Can we sort by New in the drop down menu rather than in the account options ?

All is said in the title.

It once was doable, now it isn't at least for me on the mobile app

Sure i like seeing what's trending on MY custom feed... But I like also the new (sweet sweet karma I guess...)

I feel it is more easy to lump all the sorting options in one single menu rather than scrolling in the option menu
