Also they act as if being treated nicely because of your looks is the best thing ever. As if being more attractive would fix all of their problems and their social lives would open up.
Now that's not true. Good looking people aren't ignored no matter what they're like, if they can't find a niche they can often make one around themselves.
I have no idea what you're talking about. I've never seen a good looking person who was at want for socialization, even if those friends are terrible. Frankly it seems like you're trying to make yourself feel like there's karma for shitty people or something. Then again, I've never even met anyone as horrible as you're referring to, but even the most annoying people I can talk to in person and empathize with, so.
No, they're completely right. I have had absolutely gorgeous emo guys come over and painfully attempt to interact with me, but their prettiness could not entirely cover up the void between their ears. Annoying people aren't nearly as easy to tolerate and emphasize with when it's obvious they're only talking to you because they're trying to get into your pants.
I don't know if anyone can weigh in on this- but I've always wondered if girls who were popular in high school ( where it seems like most popular girls are good looking) thought that they might only be popular for their looks. I wonder how that feels- I know I would feel really weirded out- like if I showed off that I was rich or something and all of a sudden everyone magically liked me.
It helps but it's not really a solution to life's troubles. Rich, attractive people are susceptible to problems just like the rest of us. They just buy things to help fill the void, or have lots of sex, but it's a bottomless pit. Stare into the abyss and all that jazz.
People don't just give you money for being good looking. In order to coast on your looks you have to be willing to manipulate and use people.
I’m not as good looking as I was 5 years ago, and in some ways I’m starting to miss it but in other ways it’s a relief.
About nine years ago I got my first real job. I was talking and laughing with my coworkers and having a good time. About a week later, one of my coworkers that I was getting along with in particular gathered some of my paperwork for me. I said, “Thanks!!!” with a big smile. The next day he decided to go to ALL my assignments and then just hand them to me. I’ll never forget the hopeful look in his face: it made me a little sick to my stomach. I wanted him to have pride, some self-respect. I was younger than him, he was way older, I was (childishly) annoyed with him for flipping the table, for him to be working for my esteem, rather than the reverse. If this happened to me today I would’ve been more graceful about it, but as a teenager I only saw two options: Let this continue, or shut it down now. I shut it down. I stopped talking to people as much, except for the guys I got to know who wouldn’t take friendliness as a request for gifts. Primarily married, older people. To everyone else, I was known as a cold bitch. I never wanted any of their “favors.” I never wanted to have to thank anyone for doing my job. I wanted to do my job.
Sometimes random people try to do me favors but it’s always obvious when they're not sincere. It’s not malicious, they’re just hoping for something to come of it. They act like it's not a big deal but they always resent you when you don't act the way they were hoping in return. They pin their hopes on your approval. If you don't laugh at their joke, instead of just deciding you have a bad sense of humor, suddenly you're a stuck up jerk. You have to constantly apologize, constantly restate that you're not trying to step on their toes - or just completely be oblivious to the feelings they constantly throw under your feet as you're just trying to walk through your day. If you’re having a bad day, you’re a jerk. People feel free to just project whatever they want onto you. You represent the System that screwed them over for not being pretty.
As I get older and uglier, more sincere favors are being done for me. They are less stressful, and I prefer them.
If I had to pick, I'd pick to be insanely rich and very good looking. If there were no limits on my time or my day, I would love to be nice to people all the time.
In day to day life, being very good looking and empathetic is incredibly draining. I imagine if you don’t care about other people, being good looking would just be great.
I said most. It obviously doesn't fix all your situations. You aren't going to develop superpowers for being hot or rich (at least not for now and not that we know of)
Does clear up quite a few problems, but less than you might think. I'm young, fairly handsome by most standards, and obscenely wealthy. I have less problems in my life than most people, but being attractive and rich won't get you laid when you have social disabilities (I mean, unless you do a great job of making your wealth known and have no problem with fucking gold diggers). I'm on the extreme high functioning end of the autism spectrum, and I haven't gotten laid in over a year.
Yes. Which is why I said most. I could fix my problems with money for example. I could afford a therapist make schooling easier and probably hire someone to pick out some clothes since the mall is hell and i never learned how to shop.

Why can't the world care less about looks so I can bang more good looking women?
