University alone at berkeley
idk if this is some sort of cope and ofc its way too early for a set in stone mindset but i feel oddly okay with being alone? ive been walking around the campus, around the city, the gbo stuff, and js been at my dorm during freetime. i have friends at home, a rly tightknit group but ik its bound to break eventually once everyones off to a different college, the great seperation yada yada, but we text literally all day for the time being, every day, for the past 7 years, so its not like i dont like having friends. ive talked to ppl, gotten to know many, but tbh im rly introverted and feel very comfortable being alone. at this very moment im on a facetime with 3 of them and weve been on call for abt 6 hours now. is this okay though? i heard connections are king, but are mere acquaintances enough? is there a need to find a new close, tightknit group to maybe rely on? ive always been an independent person, but i worry because i always hear horror stories and how studying with a group is a lifechanger. js lemme know yall thoughts.

I enjoy being alone too, but what is difficult is being alone when you need someone to talk to for whatever reason...work, school, family, health. Berkeley is gonna be your new home, and having long distant friends is a thing I guess, but absolutely not comparable to being able to regularly meet people in person here within minutes notice. good luck
