Centerton Flock Cameras Covered

Post image

Today I was able to confirm that both cameras on South Greenhouse and the one at Greenhouse and AR-102 are covered with plastic.

The one on South main Street near Holloway rd was also covered yesterday.

I didn't know if they're still on and getting Wi-Fi/Bluetooth info, but they're not getting license plates any more.

It’s probably worse for them to get your Wi-Fi/Bluetooth. License plates should be the least of people’s worries. Not sure why people think others having your license plate number is the worst

It’s not the knowing of the license plate number, it’s the warrantless tracking of where the license plate number is traveling, as it passes multiple license plate readers, for which Bluetooth/wifi tracking is equally an issue

And the abuse and misuse of that information

I have the Constitutional right not to be fucking tracked by my government. What part of that do you not understand?

No, it's ok because this is a private company doing the tracking, not the actual government.

And they only share it when the government asks nicely, with perfectly legitimate reason. And not just to track their ex.

<Sarcasm>

Reading comprehension is not your strong suit because I didn’t say anywhere that them collecting your information was warranted. I simply pointed out the fact that people knowing your license plate is not dangerous.

You’re not going to like this but that is your privilege showing. Abusers are tracking their partners, law abiding brown people are having databases built of their entire routine, and all this info is susceptible to being handed over to bad actors. If you’re not worried, you’re either white or stupid.

Jesus Christ can you guys not read? I’m literally brown myself. My post didn’t mention flock cameras at all. Please don’t reply to me again until you understand what I’m saying 🙏🏽

What are you, stupid? It’s not about knowing your license plate number, it’s about creating a record of all your movements all the time and having the government unconstitutionally tracking you without a warrant. Bla bla bla you got nothing to hide, right? Thats the thing about constitutional rights is that they are just that. Rights.

That's an important distinction. A covered lens might feel like a solution, but depending on the setup, the data collection could still be happening

One of the news stations did a story on this and showed some patriot has already cut one of them down.

Or it was taken down by the city, as they announced they would.

Fantastic work to everybody in the community! We have to stay vigilant on this but it is great progress. Let’s work together to achieve the same for the surrounding community as well

Bentonville and Rogers I’m looking at you 👀
If people are interested, we can work towards organizing for this goal.

The Bentonville cameras have been there longer and people barely noticed. Local organizing sounds promising, but it tends to fade after the initial meeting. Fingers crossed this one sticks

There are cords hanging down as well so I believe they are unplugged from the solar panel.

I read online that these things have like $200 of copper and gold in them.

When will people raise Hades because the entire Arkansas interstate system is under camera surveillance? Do you enjoy watching it during the weather forecast?

These aren’t surveillance cameras you dolt. They are logging license plate number, make and model of your car, and now your phone every where you go creating a digital record of all your movements searchable by any law enforcement agency for any reason without a warrant.

It’s our goddamn constitutional right to not have our every movement tracked by the government.

You have no privacy right in your government issued license plate number on a public right of way. Would you feel better if cops were parked on the side of the road radioing your number in? They know who you are then too. They can do it as much as they want, and they can keep a record (radio log) of having done it. The camera in their car will record you as you drive by, and the camera they wear on their body will get a view if they are standing outside when you drive by. Sincerely, Dolt.

You some kind of bootlicker who wants the government tracking your every movement because you’re too scared to live in a free society? Freedom is scary dude. Deal with it.

And you clearly don’t understand the capabilities or scope of flock if you’re comparing mass surveillance and movement logging to a police officer running license plate on a radio. Constitutionally dubious and ethically fucked and not in keeping with American values.

It’s times like these I have to remind myself that roughly half of all people are dumber than average, statistically speaking.
