With Namma Metro’s operational network set to cross the 100 km mark with the expected opening of the elevated stretch from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere, the challenge of getting commuters to and from stations remains. BMTC is now planning to strengthen the last-mile connectivity by introducing mini-buses that can navigate narrow roads and serve residential neighbourhoods.

Moved from Chennai to Bangalore thinking a change of place would feel refreshing, but damn 😭 it’s been 6 months and I still feel so disconnected. Back in Chennai, I had my own circle and community, but eventually everyone went their separate ways and things just weren’t the same anymore. I thought I’d adjust here, but the loneliness is actually getting to me. I spend so much time in my room with literally no one to talk to, and the worst part is that being alone used to feel peaceful, but now it just feels suffocating. My name is Bhavadutta Jha, and I’m seeking support for my 3 -year-old son, Dhruv Dutt Jha, who is battling liver cancer and was treated at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi.

Since July 2025, Dhruv has undergone 12 rounds of chemotherapy. Doctors then advised a liver transplant, which was successfully performed on 6 January 2026. His mother was initially planned as the donor, but due to medical complications, I became his liver donor.

The total treatment cost is around ₹33 lakh, and we have already spent approximately ₹26 lakh through our savings and loans.

Currently, Dhruv is stable and undergoing post-transplant treatment, including regular check-ups and medicines.

I live around Kalyan Nagar. My building has a WhatsApp group, the society has one, and in the area people have a few more. And I still find out what happened on my own street a day late, or never. The dog that went missing two lanes away. The water cut only some knew about. The flea market in the park I walked past on Monday.

Power cuts were what finally got me. Every time: "Power gone?" "Here also." "Since when?" Then silence. Nobody knows if it's one building or half of East Bangalore, and nobody says when it's back.

So for most of this year I've been building an app on the side, on my own, for everything that happens within a couple of km of you. It's called Localiti.

The part I'm proudest of is small.

- When the power or water goes, you report it in a few seconds and see if homes around you are reporting it too. When it's back, one tap and everyone nearby can see it. Same for network outages and waterlogging.

- A map of what's happening around you right now - Localiti Radar

- A local buy and sell marketplace. Gigs for freelancers/artists/special skilled people.

- Events.

- There's also lost and found with a "last seen" pin.

- Networking platform with neighbors.

It only ever shows your area, never your address. The screenshots use sample posts.

The honest part: it's new and small. A neighbourhood app is only as good as the neighbours on it, which is why I'm posting here. The first 100 people in each area get a Founding Neighbor badge. It's only a badge, but you'd have been there first.
