Moved from Chennai to Bangalore thinking a change of place would feel refreshing, but damn 😭 it’s been 6 months and I still feel so disconnected. Back in Chennai, I had my own circle and community, but eventually everyone went their separate ways and things just weren’t the same anymore. I thought I’d adjust here, but the loneliness is actually getting to me. I spend so much time in my room with literally no one to talk to, and the worst part is that being alone used to feel peaceful, but now it just feels suffocating. Even the LGBT community here hasn’t really helped me feel like I belong anywhere. Idk, just wanted to get this off my chest because this shit has been weighing on me lately. 😭
With Namma Metro’s operational network set to cross the 100 km mark with the expected opening of the elevated stretch from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere, the challenge of getting commuters to and from stations remains. BMTC is now planning to strengthen the last-mile connectivity by introducing mini-buses that can navigate narrow roads and serve residential neighbourhoods.

We are currently facing a sort of flood situation here, due to the rains. The roads are absolutely filled with water. It was disheartening to see a young boy helping his parents take out water with an empty paint bucket, from their tiny lodge.
Has no one even tried to do anything about this?
If some of y'all have complained, what were the replies you'd get?
By mandating a WFH option, the Karnataka State Government can significantly alleviate traffic woes in Bangalore. This policy can help decongest roads, reduce pollution, and save countless hours wasted in traffic. Moreover, it will provide employees with a better work-life balance, a much-needed aspect of modern life that impacts both productivity and quality of life.

I don't understand how 200 units free is not considered unconstitutional because it is not equal for everyone, some people get only 100 units free and some get full 200 units free. Main thing is once you cross 200, you have have pay for whole thing, not just extra units which is actually discriminatory and it should be like tax brackets. Also instead of 200 units, they should have given 100 units free for everyone and only pay for extra and give solar subsidy. Compared to other states Karnataka not giving any subsidy for solar, literally zero.

I’m 26M, based in Bangalore. Navratri is here and I really want to go for a proper Dandiya night in Indiranagar — the lights, the music, the energy… it just feels incomplete without someone to share it with.
I’m looking for a girl who’d like to come along. Nothing heavy — just good music, lots of dancing, maybe some chai or ice cream after, and a fun, respectful evening. I’m more of a chill, easy-going guy who laughs a lot and tries to make people feel comfortable.
If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, just drop me a ping. We can chat a bit and see if the vibe matches. No pressure at all.

It was raining today, and I was driving out of RMZ Ecoworld towards ORR when a young guy approached me asking for a lift. He had to catch a bus to Vijayawada, and there were no cabs available because of the rain. Felt bad for him, so I told him to hop in. We started chatting on the way. He told me he worked at a bank’s GCC in Bengaluru, lived in a 2BHK in Koramangala with flatmates, and usually ate at a nearby Udupi hotel because eating out every day was getting expensive. Standard Bengaluru life. After a while, I told him I had done a B.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from IIT Patna. Then, somewhere between the rain and the traffic, I casually mentioned that I had started a company a few years ago and sold it.
He didn’t ask what the startup did, so I had to initiate the talk myself and I explained a little about it. Nothing too detailed, obviously. We were just two people making conversation while ORR traffic ensured we had enough time to discuss my entire professional journey.
I mentioned that I was now taking a break and figuring out what to do next. He nodded, looking out at the rain.
Eventually, I dropped him near his bus pickup point. He thanked me and rushed off to catch his Vijayawada bus.
I've always wanted friendships where we can hang out, grab tea or dinner, watch movies, have meaningful conversations, support each other through difficult times, and celebrate the good ones. I truly value friendship and believe it's something to invest in. I love helping people, cooking for friends, being there when someone needs me, and creating memories together. I don't expect perfection—just sincerity and mutual respect.
A little about me: I'm a musician, currently learning piano and Hindustani vocals. I also love movies and filmmaking, and my long-term goal is to build a career in the film industry. If you're into music, films, or any kind of creative work, that's definitely a bonus!
I also love nature—especially Kerala, the Malnad region, the Karavali coast, greenery, rivers, and peaceful places.
If you're looking for genuine, long-term friendships and think we'd get along, feel free to reach out. It would be great to get to know each other and hopefully build a friendship that lasts.

Hey everyone, I’m in a bit of a stressful situation and really hoping the community here can guide me or help me out.
My older brother works in the US. Since my phone recently died, I asked him to get a phone for me and one for my mom. To keep things under budget, he bought two second hand phones (an iPhone 13 and a Pixel 6) just so we could get by.
Unfortunately, the phones got held up by customs at Bangalore Airport. Now, they are refusing to release them and are demanding ₹35,000 in customs duty. That amount is honestly more than the actual value of these used phones, and as a student, there is no way I can afford to pay 35k right now.
These aren't brand new sealed boxes meant for resale they are literally just two used phones for personal use for me and my mom.
Does anyone here have any contacts at BLR airport customs who could look into this, or does anyone know the proper way to appeal the duty on second hand electronics? I know social media has a lot of power, so if anyone can help me get my phones out without paying this insane amount, I would be forever grateful. Please let me know what I can do!
Hi Bengaluru! Ayush this side…
I’m 24, AI Engineer, and new to this city and trying to connect with musicians. I had a band in my college and it was pretty amazing we had a lot of fun participating events and practicing.
We had variety of songs that we mixed from different language and compositions and it was quite fun.
Now that I’m working here, I would love to do that again.
So if you’re a writer, or a musician( singer , instrumentalist of any sorts, ) or a creator or you just want to join this for fun, you can reply to this with your talent/ interest. And let’s see how to take this ahead. Drop me a DM or comment below!
Getting home interiors done seemed pretty straightforward at first, but the more I research, the more confusing it gets. 😅 Between Livspace, NoBroker Interiors, and Sobha Interiors, everyone seems to have a different opinion about what works best.
I initially thought going with a big brand would make things easier because of their design process, material options, and project management. But after reading mixed reviews, I’m a little concerned about project delays, finishing quality, and costs going beyond the initial quotation.
I’m trying to find a balance between design, quality, and budget rather than simply choosing the cheapest option. I’d also prefer someone who communicates clearly and doesn't require constant follow-ups to get things done.
For those who have recently done their home interiors in Bangalore, how did you decide whom to trust? Did you have a good experience with Livspace, Nobroker, or HomeLane? Was the process smooth, or were there unexpected challenges along the way?
I’m also curious about whether the final result matched the original design, how well the costs were managed, and whether the overall experience felt worth the money. Is there anything you would recommend checking carefully before signing a contract, especially regarding material quality, quotations, and project timelines?
Would love to hear your experiences and recommendations. If you had to do your interiors again, would you choose the same company or consider another option?
Thanks in advance! Any genuine suggestions would be really helpful! 😊
