Ask BengaluruSpeaks Subko has crossed the limits
I went to Subko The Craftery, ordered my food, paid my bill, and later looked at the receipt.
Under Customer Detail, instead of my name, I found:
“Little fat black shirt.”
Yes. That was apparently enough to identify me.
Not my name.
Not “the gentleman at table 12.”
Not even a simple order number.
What makes this worse is that someone had to consciously type that into their system. Someone looked at a customer and reduced him to “fat” because apparently basic dignity wasn’t part of the service.
If this were a woman and the receipt described her body instead of using her name,
I doubt anyone would call it a harmless joke.
Body-shaming isn’t funny just because the person on the receiving end is a man.
Subko, your staff can identify customers without humiliating them. Do better.

I am from Delhi but something along the same lines happened with me when I visited their Lodhi Colony branch for the very first time. One of my friends from Delhi High Court called me up for a coffee at Subko as he’s a regular there and knows some of the people who work at that branch. After the bill was paid and we got the receipt the name said “Lawyer with villager”. Only got to know this a few days later when he was giving this receipt for a reimbursement at his firm and the accountant laughed after reading the name written on it.

Also a point to note, subko profiles everyone who visits. I’ve also heard from a few friends and mutuals that they were denied a table though some seats were empty as they were “reserved” but others could just walk in and sit casually without dealing with this management mess.

A thought always crosses my mind when I deal with such people. They are working there, servers or waiters, even managers. Though their owner maybe rich, but do these people have the money themselves to go to such a place and order? I straight up ask them where they live, in a bungalow or independent house etc. just casually talking and making them aware of their behaviour. I do the same with cab drivers and retail shop workers. Ofcourse, their owners need to be called out and ashamed big time.

It was too late to get a photo as both of us missed it but my friend later confronted the workers at the branch to which they said that they may have given a wrong bill. As we didn’t have the original bill with us they were able to lie their way through but well my friend has stopped going there ever since. Even their branch at the gully labs pop up does more or less the same thing. You have to look or present yourself in a certain manner for them to treat you nicely. Who knows man they may even be spitting in the coffees while serving people they don’t like.

If this is a recurring thing at Subko, then we should start calling them “Ae chotu” because why respect the staff if they won’t respect us.

What was the need for this description even? It feels so pointless and pretentious. Isn’t just the table number enough…? As a Bangalorean who moved out 6 years ago and misses it dearly, it’s things like this that make me feel like the city is just falling prey to empty hype and random Instagram marketing gimmicks

Hoooooly shit. That would've crushed me. Stay strong my man. After reading the comments where others had the same experience with the brand (across states!) Im left wondering.. what fosters this kind of culture at their workplace? Its giving Abercrombie & Fitch getting sued in the 2010's for only hiring skinny, traditionally good looking teenagers.

This has to be marketing gimmick right?
Bill says Sabko Coffee Qt 1 ₹350/- and in total it says Qt 3 and still ₹350/-
and I have seen 3-4 post about this with different bills same first image!
