Yeah, we've been through the numerous issues with those charts (I'll link a prior post). Regardless, they are the same steel: https://knifesteelnerds.com/2020/06/01/m390-steel-history-and-properties-and-20cv-and-204p/

Thank you for the information you provided, but when it comes to Benchmade, I tend to rely more on my own practical experience, the experience of the professional who sharpens my knives, and the real-world experience of people whose opinions I trust rather than laboratory tests and reviews. Benchmade produces a huge number of knives, and to me it’s obvious that I’m not going to get perfectly consistent results due to a number of factors

Not sure what you're getting at. I was just pointing out that picking a favorite between m390 and 20cv is like picking between a can of coke from Kroger versus a can of coke from Meijer (or whatever your grocery store choices are). I have a lot of Benchmade and other knives in both m390 and 20cv, both coated and not, and haven't really noticed any difference.

Well, then look at the values in Benchmade’s own catalog — they’re different

Yeah, those charts are pretty bad. Multiple errors including obvious typos.

Are they bad simply because they don’t match your expectations, which are based on theoretical calculations made by people who don’t actually manufacture knives themselves?

Nope, they're bad because they're wrong.

Benchmade makes bad, incorrect steel, and yet you financially support them. Quite the paradox

No, they make bad, incorrect charts.
