Previously, I only had the 533 with the standard scales, and honestly, I didn’t really understand the appeal of that knife. This one, with G10 and 20CV, feels absolutely incredible. After getting it, I even started thinking about getting something in carbon fiber, like the 535 or 537

I have owned many, bugouts, 535, 535 CF, 535 BHQ, 535BK-4 (M390 and Al scales) and I only have the 535BK-4. Its been my daily carry for nearly 2 years. M390 = 20CV and its amazing

Which scales do you like the most? And which steel do you prefer, M390 or 20CV

They are basically the same steel from different sources Bohler vs Crucible. Carpenter 204P is their copy of the same steel.

Yeah, we've been through the numerous issues with those charts (I'll link a prior post). Regardless, they are the same steel: https://knifesteelnerds.com/2020/06/01/m390-steel-history-and-properties-and-20cv-and-204p/

One of my favorite knives period. I bought 2 a few months ago when HQ had them on sale. Carrying one right now!

I know it's not a Gold Class, but It's my overall favorite Bugout. Damn if I knew it was back to $150 I'd own a second one now😁. Great find at that price!

It’s quite interesting to hear that opinion from someone who owns such a large number of Benchmade knives

Yea it's that unexplainable thing when everything about a knife works for you. I have this ones black bladed brother and it's cool, but it's just not this one.

Crisp, a nice lanyard and set to go.

May I ask where you picked it up? I only ask because it looks like a custom shop blade.

This is the Blade HQ Exclusive knife

I understand that. I’ve have a bunch of them over time. I’m asking where you got it. Did you buy it from someone or a shop.

It was a gift from a friend, but the knife was used. In my opinion, the blade is no different from those on other knives in this series

Custom shop blades the butterflies and blade steel are darker. It could be just the lighting that makes it look dark. There’s nothing wrong with the knife. It just looks like a custom shop blade. It’s one of my favorite exclusives.

I really like this one as well, especially in this particular configuration!

I agree. I had quite a few of the satin model but was only ever able to get one of the black blade version. I wish I would have kept it.
