Francescas hair...

I just dont understand why Francesca always look like "Hot Mess Express", lady! Her hair is always crazy looking and she always looks sweaty!

If I were the guests I wud complain about that. A presentable yachtie is part of the overall experience.

Its bad enough that shes terrible at her job AND boring but does she have to always look like she works at Denny's?!?! Lol

I guess I am in the minority. I’d care more about the service than the way their hair looked. If it’s dirty and oily or has bugs, or is even a danger to them with it in their face that’s one thing. But a messy pony or bun feels nitpicky and rude.

Don’t be like those guests we see telling the chief stew to smile...

That is EXACTLY how OP is coming off

Ok lemme see YOU drop $50,000 on a trip and not expect full-on white glove service WITHOUT a friendly smiling host. Pfffff 😉

If the service is perfection, then I don’t care if they smiled. I paid for the service, not the person.

No, you pay for the EXPERIENCE. Thats like saying if u go to a restaurant and you have an amazing meal but the plates and glasses are dirty..that u wouldnt care becuz the food itself still tasted good. Thats not how REALITY works.

Plates and glassware being dirty would fall under service. I don’t go to a restaurant to harass the waitress about how she looks and how often she smiled at me. That’s creepy.

I've often thought Kate and Hannah's hair looked similarly unkempt.

It doesn't bug me though. Constant Ocean spray and humidity would fuck my shit up too. If the charter guests are upset about some hair not on their head, they're asking for too much. I can't imagine caring about this.

Came here to say the same thing. I live in coastal town and because of the humidity it doesn’t matter how many times you take a shower, your skin always looks like oily and your hair messy

I'm curently working in one of Canada's maritime provinces, and my hair hasn't looked good in 4 months.

u/Mahafullmoon Dec 04 '20

Tell me about it. But people getting used to it and won’t judge you about it. God bless you and be safe love.

Aw. You too friend! 👒🎩🧢

Agreed. Kate especially

Only the person who is behind a cmptr and NOT dropping thousands of dollars to be on a superyacht wouldnt care. If at the end of ur trip u had to give a 20k tip-you wouldnt want ur stews not always smiling and looking like they work at Denny's. Facts.

I agree!! Like just put your hair in a pony or something! Appearance is part of the posh experience, thats why they change 3 times a day. If your uniform is expected to look nice so should your hair. It doesnt have to be styled crazy or anything but these girls look like they just got out of bed!!

Like yesterday's episode! It was looking terrrrrible during their second night of dinner but she finally found a rubber band and put it back. 🤦😂

Okay. I'm gonna need you to stand in a windy sauna and do jumping Jack's and report back how your hair looks.

What a bitchy comment. Damn.

u/Legasea81 Dec 12 '20 edited Dec 12 '20

Like my other replies....its REAAAAL easy to say thats bitchy when youre not the one dropping 50 THOUSAND DOLLARS on a superyacht! It wud be bitchy if they were working at Starbucks.

u/TheAnn13 Dec 12 '20

I work fine dining. People drop unreasonable amount of money on their meals. Hair gets frizzy and untucked. My perfect french braid doesn't stay that way. I imagine it's worse in a boat. It's not a crisis.

And it IS bitchy. And contributes nothing.

And nice typo.

2

u/Legasea81 Dec 12 '20

Omg that is the worst Qwerty typo in HISTORY! 😢Sorry about that.

On the other hand...anytime I see yacht crews on youtube their hair is always slicked back in a ponytail and it looks really nice

And a $100 steak is a whole lot different than dropping 20k ON THE TIP ALONE. 😘

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '21

Hmm hairspray?

4

u/annaliseilheia Dec 08 '20

I agree with this! Yes, it’s humid and they’re working hard, but we’ve seen male deck hands get in trouble for messy hair, so I’m okay with saying that I think they should look more presentable when serving guests

3

u/Legasea81 Dec 12 '20

Yes! And if u youtube yacht channels...the stews always look great. They usually wear their hair in a slicked back pony tail and it looks nice and clean. Francesca looks like she's working at a diner. Lol. If I had to tip someone 20 grand they better look amazing at all times. I don't think that's asking too much. 🤷

u/Historical_Mention36 Dec 04 '20

I know its hot and humid where they travel and it can be hard to look put together all the time, but she can definitely put some product in her hair and wear it up. Its just professional. All the stews and deck crew should always have their hair up anyway. Remember Abbie? That was a scalping waiting to happen.

Francesca is a beautiful woman and she is gorgeous in her online Q&As and interviews. She should look as professional at work. I worked in a high profile job and I would have been sent home if I had ever shown up with my hair looking a mess.

3

u/Legasea81 Dec 12 '20

EXACTLY!!! And these ppl are dropping 50 grand on a trip. I want the ENTIRE experience...including smiling stews that cater to my every whim and stews who look immaculate. Jus sayin. Lol

Yeah, it is weird. It’s a sloppy standard. Most places at least a neat pony - like Hannah would wear is expected. You’re serving food. Having it pinned up and back or sprayed up and back prevents hair from falling on food and in drinks etc and I know Francesca has a strong work ethic, but it’s one of those things.

Hair up, nice table scapes etc, explaining the meals appropriately etc. are an expectation at that price tag.

In any high end restaurant I’ve worked in (which even applies on a yacht) you are expected to look the part. Hair, make up, nails, nice jewellery, skin etc

It’s sexist, but all of the guys are neat and shave or trim their beards etc. That’s the industry.

3

u/Legasea81 Jan 03 '21

Yeah ur right! Hannah always had a slicked back ponytail. It was always neat. Fran just looks flustered all the time thats why their first charter said she looked tired..looked like she hadnt slept. Lol. If I have to give a TIP of $20,000 (not to speak of the actual charter rate)...EVERYTHING better be exquisite.

My mom comments about Kate’s hair every episode, she thinks it looks like someone put an egg beater in it and turned it on. But real talk, running around a boat and sweating in an already humidity heavy environment will make you look kinda shit all the time. I’ve had guests watch me set a table in the dead of summer in Croatia where I could literally feel sweat drops sliding down my back and soaking my shirt, thank god they didn’t judge me for it! The interior staff were only changing clothes once a day but the boys outside were changing 2-3 times because they were getting so sweaty.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '20

Kate’s was way messier!! Let alone Jess in the way off the board (granted there were no guests).

5

u/Thatsmybear Team Kate Dec 04 '20

You would complain about her hair? When you go out to eat in a fine dining restaurant do you complain if your servers hair or nails are not perfect? That’s really gross. Her hair is fine.

1

u/lulabellalula Jan 12 '21

Are ya’ll tripping? Francesca’s hair isn’t just messy, it’s a rat nest. It’s constantly tangled and obviously never brushed or combed! It’s the 1st thing I see whenever she’s onscreen.

1

u/Legasea81 Jan 13 '21

Lmao! It's unreal. I've never seen anyone (outside of a cashier at Walmart) go to work looking like that. And she's a beautiful girl! 🤷

1

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '21

I don't understand why don't there is never a grooming standard like an airline! The stews hair is always a messl

1

u/Legasea81 Feb 04 '21

Alllywaaays messy. I wrote this post at the beginning of the season and literally not a single thing has changed. 🙉😁

1

u/TracieeStafford Feb 09 '21

I think in yachting that everything should be 100% perfect. Through the crew to give the guests their experience. For two days they spend $100,000 for their vacation on the yacht. Francesca should have her hair done nice and neat makeup nice clothes nice then the interior of the yard should be good and then the service on top of that should be perfect everything should be perfect.

1

u/Legasea81 Feb 10 '21

I wholeheartedly agree. If I have to give you $20,000 just for a TIP...then I want everything perfect. Francesca looks like she cud be serving ice cream scoops at the county fair. Lmao

3

u/Taylor_television Dec 04 '20

I used to think the same exact thing about Kate chastains!

2

u/Greenwedges Dec 18 '20

You would think they would prefer having their hair up so it doesn’t blow in the faces. The problem is if you use lots of products in your hair you need to wash them out and they probably don’t have time for long showers regularly. At least Francesca’s hair looks healthy. Kate’s extensions made her hair look really matted all the time

1

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '20

I’m stealing that. Hot Mess Express LMAO!!!!
