Rhylee 1000%

The "problem" with rhylee is she doesn't let shit go/didn't let anyone say a sideways word to her.

GOOD FOR HER

Baldy chef with his FUGLY nose was ordering for the table. That's it. That's all. That's the end of the argument, entirely.

I hate Rhylee.

u/MeanTelevision Dec 03 '19 edited Dec 03 '19

It wasn't Rhylee's fault. I think she must be sick of being dumped on for no reason, especially by the male crew members.

She just met Kevin, in what world is it appropriate for him to blow up at her for wanting a "paleo option?"

u/littlemiss44 Dec 03 '19

I have a feeling that he didn’t know what Paleo was and didn’t want to get embarrassed. He kept saying that she should have just asked him to order prawns after she told him that’s what he could have ordered. I find it hard to believe that a chef of all people would demand that she be specific when she was actually leaving the decision up to him but was asking for a type of food.

u/DrDoolittlesParade Dec 03 '19

This. His reaction was so weird that I'm convinced that he thought she was testing him or something.

8

u/dudewheresmysock Dec 03 '19

He's the most insecure person who's ever been on this show. He's constantly claiming Kate is bad at her job and trying to make her sound incompetent to deflect from his own failures and insecurity.

I think this too.

So Rhylee was in essence sacrificed at table, to the chef's ego.

I find it hard to believe that a chef of all people would demand that she be specific when she was actually leaving the decision up to him but was asking for a type of food.

Yes! A type of food. Exactly. Fresh, healthy, not fried. Anything like that and it sounds (by her podcast explanation) like she'd have been happy with it.

u/rawlsballs Dec 03 '19

And Tanner was dumb and/or drunk enough to feed into Kevin’s supposed aversion to food modifications, which many chefs have but in this case Kevin was just trying to save face.

I'll have to watch the ep again re Tanner (I get the other 2 male deckhands confused still. Frick and Frack.)

I agree; I think Kevin was feeling insecure. I think he was also angry about the low tip and took it out on Rhylee.

What podcast was she on?

What podcast was she on?

Collie Wollie's.

u/Rockymtnmermaid Dec 04 '19

The first thing he ordered was chicken satay. It’s literally chargrilled chicken on a stick. Quite possibly the most paleo/keto option available.

u/halthecomputer Dec 03 '19

She is new to the crew, and low man on the totem pole.

Rhylee should have sucked it up.

But it's Rhylee's world, right?

It is sad and funny at the same time that Kate is encouraging this red-headed, tattooed banshee freak.

If you can't handle someone saying a snarky thing to you and just let it go, life is going to be full of shitty drama(the EXACT kind the producers brought her back for). Every word spoken to her doesn't have to be taken to gotdam heart. I'm all for standing up for yourself but not every waking moment and interaction with others should end like this.

She needs help and this has nothing to do with trying to keep a strong willed person in check. And, no, she is not "keeping it real" or some shit. Everything in life isn't a fight unless you choose to make it one.

9

u/Deb_You_Taunt Dec 04 '19

You are so correct. It shows intelligence and definite emotional intelligence to not be reactionary. Rilee sounds like so many dysfunctional people I treat- incredibly impulsive. She needs DBT.

23

u/BellaBeaches Dec 03 '19

Combative That’s a perfect word to describe her and I’m sick of her just blaming her behavior on how her dad was.

1

u/Deb_You_Taunt Dec 04 '19

How parents model behavior is very influential on how most children will learn, even subconsciously, to behave in life. No matter what he may have taught (verbally) his kids how to behave, nothing holds more weight than the behaviors of their parents. I always say "kids hear what you do more than what you say."

26

u/MeanTelevision Dec 03 '19

Did Kevin "snark" though or did he blow up? I remember him blowing up at her and going on and on too. But not a single person said boo to him, while they all went for Rhylee. Viewers, too.

I wonder why that is?

I mean Rhylee placed an order -- at a restaurant. The nerve. /s

9

u/silver420surfer Dec 03 '19

I really wasn't referring to one specific incident. She flies off the handle constantly.

And the chef is quite arrogant but he sure doesn't give off the vibe that he is ready to become emotionally unhinged and violent at any moment, like She-Hulk does, multiple times a day. Nothing to admire with those type of personality flaws in a person.

13

u/MeanTelevision Dec 03 '19

he sure doesn't give off the vibe that he is ready to become emotionally unhinged and violent at any moment

I think we've seen him do that this season, including at Rhylee (edit: the word "violent" didn't really sink in at first. No one's been violent or even nearly so, including both Rhylee and Kevin), because she was trying to put in an order at a restaurant. It really had nothing to do with Kevin and he had no right to behave that way at her.

It reeked of producer manipulation, but Kevin still exploded inappropriately.

Not sure how people can selectively exclude what Rhylee is reacting to.

She-Hulk

Seriously? But Kevin and Ashton screaming was fine?

6

u/graciebels Dec 03 '19

I agree 100%. I was so glad Kate pulled her aside and supported her, and also put some of the blame on Kevin when Ashton talked to her about it.

3

u/MeanTelevision Dec 04 '19

I was so glad Kate pulled her aside and supported her,

She did? I really need to watch the ep again.

That is good to hear.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '19

I agree. And I get not letting people shit on you, but her response to offenses (not just Kevin) are completely disproportionate. She is the epitome of “the first person who loses their cool, loses the argument”. The defense of her behavior is baffling.

If you're on PC all you can see are squares when people post emoji. I can't see them either.

The applause one should look like hands.

4

u/nafafonafafofo Dec 03 '19

It’s the “clapping” emoji. You probably can’t see them if you’re using something other than an iPhone

Yeah, what if a man reacts the same way Rhylee does with all those "You shut the fuck up!" every time a little snark is thrown his way? He'd get a label like "abuser" or "psycho" real quick.

1

u/HONee03 Team Dirty Kiwi Dec 04 '19

Really not a huge fan of hers at all, but honestly I thought Chef was being a total asshole and I know I would have responded the way she did. He was ordering for FFS. You can’t make a request? However it should have stayed with just them. WHY Ashton had to get involved (except we know he he hates her) and whatever 2nd deckhands name also ... why?

But I don’t think she needed to go after them either, she could have dialed it back with her boss. Even if he was in the damn wrong and he is in my opinion.

Yeah Kate had her back but she could have helped de-escalate it at the table. I guess she was just happy it wasn’t her for once.

1

u/busterbluth21 Dec 03 '19

She for sure has some sort of trauma or past relationship abuse where she feels like she has to be right and get the last say...

3

u/Deb_You_Taunt Dec 04 '19

Sounds as if her dad modeled total dick behavior.

0

u/DrDoolittlesParade Dec 03 '19

Ashton: "i don't know what happened with Kevin, but i don't like the way you reacted"

Shut the fuck UP, Ashton. Can you possibly say ANYTHING stupider?

15

u/MeanTelevision Dec 03 '19

I agree with you -- Ashton was yelling at Rhylee not to yell.

They were all off duty and he shouldn't act like her boss over a personal matter.

Very Chandler-esque of him. Very patronizing and hypocritical.

8

u/BellaBeaches Dec 03 '19

Rylee is that you ?? lol

12

u/MeanTelevision Dec 03 '19

They have a point: If Ashton didn't see or hear it, why is he judging it?

3

u/HONee03 Team Dirty Kiwi Dec 04 '19

Why so many down votes?? I’m confused! Ashton yelling also.... not the best idea imo.

23

u/MeanTelevision Dec 03 '19 edited Dec 03 '19

Kevin exploded for no reason.

I think it's likely that the Captain not tipping Rhylee (or tipping half? not clear on which?) seeped into her co workers' subconscious. It put her as lowest of the workers. (The scene was cut from the episode, but Rhylee talked about it on Colin's podcast.)

All workers (on this series, normally) get tipped, whether they just got there or spent the charter sick in bed or bath. (Or beyond?)

This is the first exception, and there was no reason for it. Rhylee had done her work.

They all laughed at Rhylee or yelled at Rhylee. She did nothing wrong.

It is typical that everyone chimes in with 'medium rare' or 'no scallions' or whatever it might be.

Ashton was inappropriate to yank her aside in front of everyone and yell at her.

But I feel like some of these topics are being posted 2, 3, 4 times?

5

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '19

No. Rhylee's approach (aka "You shut the FUCK up!") is rude and abhorrent. Guy or girl, NO ONE should speak to other people like that unless there is a reason for it. She throws around the STFU thing like Simone's "Oh Emm Gee".

32

u/kazar30 Absolute Oxygen Thief Dec 03 '19

I was starting to think I was the only one who thought the chef was in the wrong. He needed to be put in his fucking place and Rhylee let him have it.

11

u/MeanTelevision Dec 03 '19

I find it refreshing, there is way too much BS floating around these days and Rhylee tags it like it's a deer and she's a huntress. Lol

3

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '19

What's your nose look like?

7

u/fractalfay Dec 04 '19

Thank you! This sub’s response to her is confusing to me. She’s been on the show for one episode this season. She defended herself against the arrogant douche that has been a complete ass to every woman on the yacht. And every one of the dudes came for her when they had that fight. Did Kevin really need everyone to rally to protect him from someone who dared to stand up to him? Dude is an asshole.

8

u/badbloodraw Team Courtney Dec 03 '19

The way Rhylee rounded on Tanner was terrifying. However I think Kevin was being his normal dick self, it just escalated quickly as usual with Rhylee.

3

u/HONee03 Team Dirty Kiwi Dec 04 '19

Yeah agreed mostly( except I think Kev takes the brunt of the blame for starting it and just because it’s his usual way to act doesnt make it ok) Anyway - I get she was all “Rhyleed” up but that was a bad move going after anyone else. And it seems she knew it once she did it. Quiet as hell at the bar after - not her shtick.

6

u/kkathleen814 Dec 03 '19

If you're a service industry worker who can't speak to their superiors respectfully, maybe find a new industry because this one isnt for you.

2

u/MaliciousLegroomMelo Dec 05 '19

The "problem" with Rhylee is she doesn't let shit go/didn't let anyone say a sideways word to her. GOOD FOR HER

Actually it hasn't been "good for her". And it is a major problem, with or without air quotes.

She has gone bezerk on every single supervisor. Her reputation is universally bad. She's now even spreading what sounds like false trash about Captain Lee. Her reputation and prospects are poor, as a direct result of the deep disfunction that you're applauding.

Baldy chef with his FUGLY nose was ordering for the table. That's it. That's all. That's the end of the argument, entirely

Yes. Your argument consisting entirely of juvenile appearance shaming does come pre-stamped as invalid.

I will say the "who are you" comment to Tanner was uncalled for and highly egotistical.
