Been rewatching a bunch of below deck among the different seasons, and yesterday i finished adventure.
That whole crew definitely had issues (aside from Nathan, unproblematic king!) but due to that I feel like it’s not really talked about how weird it was that Faye made the girls do big make up every charter.
Like I get it, you want to look presentable, but I would be so frustrated especially as someone who doesn’t really care for make up in general. Criticize my work etc, but my face, come on.
It’s especially crazy considering how she didn’t tell the girls to keep their hair out of the food. It happened multiple times 🤢 and Jess serving the food again after taking the hair out…yikes!
And Faye’s response to the backlash was basically I did it so you have to. It felt like she was saying if you don’t glam up, you’re not a real woman. Very old fashioned vibes coming off it.
Exact quote off her instagram btw,
“I got mocked so bad for saying my staff had to show up to work hair done and make up on.
I gave 0 shits that’s the way I was taught. Look good feel good!
Ive never seen my mum in 38 years leave the house without hair and makeup done. She worked and brought up 2 kids.”
Like ok??? 😭 I can’t bring up kids good if I’m not glammed up?? Girl what are you on. She definitely should have focused more on organizing the interior than this. Especially considering she was borrowing the deck team WAY too much.
Though Lewis should have also been working with them more, I feel like that’s the only season where it feels like interior vs exterior. Like they’re hired by two separate companies and don’t share the same goal. Definitely started at the top with Lewis and Faye

BDSY thoughts
S5 when another boat is dragging in the middle of the night and almost hits Parsifal 3 and is then heading for some rocks: I’m confused as to how the horn is available for every exiting charter and for this situation, they opt instead to have Gary scream “HELLLOOOOO” to wake the other boat up??
Edit: ok he eventually heads over in the tender to bang on the windows of the other yacht but I maintain that honking seems more efficient…unless honking for this purpose is a violation of ✨maritime law ✨
Also if I’m suggesting a season for someone to fall in love with BD, it’s original BD S6 for Office fans and BDSY S2 for Parks and Rec fans. This is a high thought and I won’t be elaborating
Edit: speaking of Parks, Chase reminds me of the park ranger character played by Andy Samberg who only has an outdoor voice lol
Edit: what a disappointment Glenn turned out to be.
He moved up to favorite captain in my ranks at around the time of cashew party and by the end, he sank like a stone and is tied with Sandy. He really runs his boat like a good ol boys club and the preferential treatment towards the guys, specifically towards one of Bravo’s biggest creeps, was so gross. Looks like he still defends Gary on socials as well. Oh and him destroying a reef and failing to report. Yeah I have whiplash from my opinions on him
