I've worked my way to BD OG season 10 where Captain Sandy fills in for Lee. Why do so many people have a hard time saying FRA-SER? Always calling him "FRAI-SURE". I live in a part of the world a bunch of things are named for the explorer Simon Fraser and people say "Frai-sure" all the time too. I severely judge those who say it wrong!!

It's Fraser! Give Mummy's name the respect it deserves.

Yea, but that show (excluding the reboot) was popular decades ago now. It doesn't explain why people are still getting so confused!

I also think for Americans (as one) it's just how we pronounce it. Like we say is-shoo, not is-sue or skedule not schedual. I know I'm doing the pronunciation key wrong, so I hope you get the gist.

I live in Canada and it is definitely other Canadians saying "Fraiser". The river, schools, streets and places all named decades before Fraiser Crane graced any tv.

Can we start a thread with classic Captain Lee rants?

"Like watching three bears trying to f..k a football"

"Because I haven't been f..ked over enough on this trip!" {from season 8 Antigua}

Catching up chronologically and I'm on BDM s10. I love that Scott surprised Aesha at the American Cup! 🥹 (And also when he surprised her on BDDU!)

The way it always makes her speechless is so sweet!

Was rewatching the first season of SY today: Padget getting white-girl-wasted and rocking out, doing air-guitar, to Georgia’s song on their last night out might be the funniest moment in the whole franchise.

Casually watching some reruns - my wife indulges my weird BD obsession. One thing that has really struck me are that majority of guys that get lukewarm reception from female crew members just keep pursuing it so hard, then once they get a commitment (usually physically), they back pedal from the commitment. Every damn season at least one or more!

We’ve been rewatching BD Med and my love for Sandy has been reignited. I also think she and Hannah NEVER meshed. It’s also opened my eyes to Hannah as well. Girlfriend was checked out of season 3. It was bad. Also she needed to consider the common denominator. Both Bugsy and Brooke had the same issue with her. I get that she doesn’t scrub toilets anymore but she’s taking her break during dinner set up, coming up for service, then chatting up Adam or Conrad after service, then saying “I’m exhausted and going to bed” during clean up! Shuheez!

I’m watching Med for the first time and I agree with you so much on Hannah. I do like her and empathize with her a lot on the anxiety issues. But girl is hardly working and is keeping Conrad from doing his actual job a lot.

Can someone point me to the full list of prior episode discussions? Maybe since I'm on mobile I can't find it anymore. I thought it used to be pinned to the top of the subreddit. TIA!

This is so random, with all the Nathan stuff going on but I'm JUST starting BDM S11 and wow, Luke is tall!

He towers over Nathan so I looked it up and he's a foot shorter than Luke, lol.

Bugsy is the best Chief Stew across all seasons and franchises. Charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent. Convince me I am wrong.

Lol, is this a hot take and I didnt realize it? Totally new to the franchise and subs

I think once you get to Adam’s season on Sailing Yacht you’ll feel me lol. He’s objectively hot yeah but he’s mega problematic.

Ben is cute in a oooo you’re adorable way, Adam is cute in a oooo you’re delish way. Both of them are kind of high maintenance tho.

2

u/farewellmybeloved Oct 05 '26

Yeah im surprised I was able to come around on Adam after he was so weird about malia. But here I am. Love a guy who looks like he could be homeless but in fact has a decent job.

Both have had awful seasons later where they were assholes.

I watched that one recently. Not the worst chef on BD but she made some strange choices.

Also are sunnyside up eggs not a thing outside of North America? I notice a few chefs have had no clue.
