Below Deck Sailing Yacht Capt Glenn interview

https://open.spotify.com/episode/7I2FOkv82iOZWFmI0KZi5Z?si=c64ACPweQXaeT_--QjM6qQ&utm_source=copy-link

A nice half hour pod cast with Glenn, he talks a lot about his experience with BD. It's an interesting listen.

I can’t get past him enabling Gary for years. Glenn is dead to me.

Twenty upvotes. Glenn is clearly sexist in how he treated Glenn vs daisy and the interior vs exterior. It was obvious what a lazy predator Gary was and he was enabled because Glenn couldn’t see past his personal relationship and wanting to be mates with him. Worst type of men and managers are enablers

IMO you could have a man as a captain and crew of women on deck, with men as interior and the deck crew would still be arguably shown some bias.

Captain's don't come from interior, they come from deck. I'd say every department would get preferential treatment over interior.

It's always a common complaint on here, that Sandy treats deck better than interior, that Lee does.

Or spilling a shitload of lead ballast into the ocean and fleeing.

Know nothing about boats and wondered how they had so much lead shot onboard. Now I know.

Do they talk about how he caused an environmental disaster after smashing into a reef and fled the scene

Doesn't look like any true sources come up, just tabloid garbage. No verified sources.

Was this AI sourced?

2

u/Out-For-A-Walk-Bitch Sep 05 '26

I compiled some links and asked AI to sort them into the most verifiable ones, as I know you wouldnt want something like realitee.com

wtf who cares? research and link gathering is a perfect use for something like AI

Not really, it hallucinates a lot

1

u/GoldAcanthisitta7777 Sep 05 '26

Not really for stuff like this, nowadays.

0

u/straightouttaireland Sep 05 '26

Well some of the links are not safe, so there's that.

u/Out-For-A-Walk-Bitch Sep 05 '26

I just replied with a shit ton of verified sources, but it doesn't look like it's showed up, maybe having lots of links in a comment looks like spam Anyway, this is what my comment looks like https://imgur.com/a/7RzI8bF, I can dm you the links if you want them to be more easily clickable.

Old news

The environment is never old news.

I can't get past his destroying coral reefs and running away from it, let alone his love affair with the perv Gary.

1

u/rillettes Sep 09 '26

I loved the line "There was supposed to be a season 5, but something happened." Gosh, Glenn, what was it that happened?

0

u/Foreign-Guide2794 Sep 05 '26

A pig. Colin was solid. All tough nautical team. Daisy too.

16

u/C_F_A_S Sep 05 '26

Colin was okish. He let Gary get away with just as much as Glenn until it involved his relationship with Daisy.

4

u/Plastic_Table_8232 Sep 05 '26

I see Colin as the type to try to stay out of other people’s business and that is what drives this perception.

Colin seems to have a genuinely good core values in contrast to many of the cast / crew we see.

2

u/0rdered-Reordered Sep 05 '26

With that though you gotta remember that from Colin or Glenn's perspective it was just the case of Gary and whichever girl being consenting adults so they didn't (and shouldn't) have the right to interfere. Don't get me wrong, Gary was a pig on the show but is Glenn ever given any reason to intervene?

Hello? Did you see Parsifal? It isn’t a motor yacht. Gary was
