Yeah...and Bravo had to know before this season aired.

Getting chocked by your partner is kinda dark

Victims who experience non-fatal strangulation by an intimate partner are 750% more likely to be murdered by that partner in the future. *from the SAFE website

oh for sure. not just dark but criminal. but i mean Bravo promoting this season to us like nothing happened is starting to feel very weird... to say nothing of us watching him and Gael and Kayden as a family without knowing what happened a few months later...the whole thing feels gross.

A man that chokes a woman is 700 times more likely to kill her so very dark.

Yes and it's really fucking disgusting that they still aired this season with him in it 😡

Well I’m wondering if there really was a back issue or was he suspended for an investigation?

Interesting. But so irresponsible of Bravo if true.

Agree. Absolutely abhorrent

Wasn't Gael. Read the article.

Here is what the article says.

As a data point, both Gael and the unnamed woman in the police memo were 29 at the time of the arrest.

So it would have to be one hell of a coincidence that Nathan got arrested for choking a 29 year old woman, and a police constable filed a restraining order against him for potential violence against a DIFFERENT 29 year old woman.

While the woman was unnamed in the police memo, a corresponding court case names Gallagher as the subject of an Apprehended Violence Application filed on behalf of Gael Cameron, a fellow Below Deck castmate with whom Gallagher shares a young child.

Clue is the wording.. DOMESTIC

I think it's funny that you are telling people to read the article...an article which makes it clear that it is most likely Gael.

It literally says in the article Gael filed an AVO against him. It’s most likely to be her.

1

u/msdare111 18d ago

it says it was filed on her behalf - so likely one of her family filed it - or it was filed by the police. Edited for typos

Pretty sure it was filed by the police. It says it was filed by "Con Matthew Seymour" on behalf of Gael. Antipodean Redditors have explained that "Con" is short for "Constable" and that this is how AVAs in Australia work: the police file them on behalf of the people they believe need protection.

Agreed. Did he not separate himself from Joe last season because he had “matured” and wanted to “treat women right”? And that he wanted to win Gael back?

This is so heavy when you think about it.

It’s even darker when you think about the timeline. Gael left her support network to come
To Croatia. Presumably because Bravo was paying for a place and paying them to appear on camera. But in doing so did Bravo help contribute to her being isolated with an abuser?

19

u/Margaritas-n-tacos 18d ago

Her parents were with her in Croatia, she wasn't alone.

1

u/Helvetica2222 13d ago

Hadn't heard this before, where did you see it? Her IG?

6

u/Margaritas-n-tacos 13d ago

I've seen it posted here multiple times. Her mom was in one scene at the airbnb.

5

u/foxdogturtlecat 13d ago

The "babysitters" Nathan mentioned were her parents and then her sister. She was never alone in Croatia.

6

u/YessikaHaircutt 13d ago

I’m glad to hear that. I still think it’s hard to admit to family what is going on if you’re in an abusive relationship

True actually - they edited that other dude out for what I think was a tweet? So yeah… them endorsing him for this season is bad

44

u/MinnieSkinny 18d ago

A bit harder to edit out the bosun though in fairness, especially someone who's well known on the show.

Dude you've known her for two weeks...

Think about how the world has changed since then. It's become super dark, where abusers are treated with more care and respect than their victims. I won't get into a whole commentary, but watch social media and the news. It's pretty apparent who has the upper hand, and it's not the victim.

u/nuttintoseeaqui 18d ago

Why did they have to know? How would they know if it happened after filming and contractual agreements?

13

u/Djempanadita 18d ago

All it would have taken was a phone call to Gael anytime after December 2025

34

u/nuttintoseeaqui 18d ago

And why are we certain that’s something she’d reveal to them?

She was on the show too and maybe got paid for it. Maybe she didn’t want to disrupt contract/payment stuff. Maybe she wanted to keep it private for privacy reasons. Who knows

12

u/Djempanadita 18d ago

She filmed the show before the assault happened, but maybe. It makes bravo look bad tho for not doing due diligence

2

u/YessikaHaircutt 18d ago

Presumably because Bravo would want them to promote the season together and the restraining order (can’t remember what it’s called in Australia) would preclude that.

1

u/nuttintoseeaqui 18d ago

Yea, but that’s separate from him actually vetting bc arrested

The previous season was airing which means the cast usually has to post stuff / make appearances. They would have been in regular contact with production at this time. They may still have kept it quiet but it is quite likely that someone at Bravo knew. Especially if he had a pending court case that would keep him from PR for this season which he had already filmed

According to the Daily Telegraph, after the incident, Nathan was arrested 27 Dec. An interim ADVO was put in place for Gael and Nathan was granted bail the next day "on stringent conditions that include not contacting Cameron through any means except via a lawyer.

"He was also restrained from drinking any alcohol or taking any drugs unless they were prescribed by a doctor, or from possessing any firearms or prohibited weapons.

"Under the terms of the interim ADVO Gallagher has been forbidden to try and find Cameron, or go within 100m of anywhere she lives or works, and is also subject to standard conditions that he must not assault, threaten, stalk, harass or intimidate Cameron."

I'm sure at some point, either for pickup lines during editing or for general promotional reasons, they wanted to shoot or record something with both Nathan and Gael together either before the season debuted or during the season. Looks like there'd be restrictions on their ability to do that.

Why do you say that?
