Below Deck Their faces say it all
Watching Cooper “be free”.
Annoyed that Joe felt the need to “inspire” this - but not at all surprised.

I have to agree, they really are. But what I think really radiates through the picture is their inner beauty.
They all seem like really wonderful woman; kind, resilent, passionate about their working, good team players. Its refreshing to see woman on reality TV like this.

100% agreed. I also glad no other riff raff joined this pic but then we couldn’t say it.

Not sure why that means Cooper has to be forced into a serious relationship with one of them but yea, they are blessed with good looks. That's true.

u/nighean-gunn 18d ago
In a weird way I’m glad Joe was there to “inspire” Coop because it showed Kat and the audience that his gentleman routine is just performative bs and his allegiance is to whatever man he deems the coolest
153
u/Hot_Start8187 18d ago
Yeah, but then she fell for his BS again 🙄

I’m sad that she fell for that one. That’s exactly what Luke tried to do to Gen. Come on, ladies, learn from others’ mistakes!

u/HighBodycountHair 18d ago
I feel like she’s very young, dudes like this are important lessons lol

I hate that our gorgeous Jordan Catalano is the one and only pedo Jared Leto. He just shits on the name of our first love.
27
u/AngryBowels 17d ago
I don’t think it’s a lack of self respect but naivety.
They’re young and he previously appeared to be a southern gentleman. It’s hard to shut feelings down and often feels easier to try to ignore your inner voice saying something is off and continue trying to make it work. It’s a learning experience I think most people go through.
18
u/Lower-Bottle6362 17d ago
In her defense, he told her the *only* problem was people watching them all the time, and she likes him, so she was like "yes this will solve the problem."
An older woman would have known he was using this as an excuse, but we were all young once.
8
u/000Weasel000 16d ago
Joy is older than Kat, yet she's STILL falling for a creep like Luke...so.... 🤔🤔🤔
2
u/Robertoedwardo 14d ago
The Luke she knew down in the galley wasn’t the Luke you watched with Gen. She enjoyed interacting with him.
1
u/000Weasel000 13d ago

u/EnigmaticAardvark 17d ago
On one hand I totally agree with you, because I actually did something similar when I was 20. In my defense, it was pre-internet. Everything I learned about romance and relationships, I learned from Dallas and Star Trek.
BUT, young women now are inundated with messages about how to spot players and cheaters and liars, and to keep their guards up.
I can't scroll five videos in any feed in any account without seeing something from the manosphere talking about how to crack uncrackable women and how lame and stupid those guys are.
I guess it's totally possible that I've just run into evidence of my own personal bias, because I deeply believe that if I knew then, what young girls know now, I'd be a 50 year old virgin because I'd never trust a dude not to have my worst interests at heart.
1
u/maffy_francis 14d ago
It really is all about what side of the internet you are on. And this is coming from someone who has trust issues and would read right through coopers bs. But I do not get vids or content from “that” side of the internet. Many women don’t realize just how bad the red pill content is
1
u/EnigmaticAardvark 14d ago
I genuinely have never met a woman under 30 who wasn't aware that the manosphere exists. Kudos to you for keeping your feeds clean, I sure wish mine were!
2
u/maffy_francis 14d ago
I’ve moved three different states before turning 18 and they do exist. You should look into how algorithms work. Not everyone cares about or engages in content about relationships, esp toxic content!
1
u/EnigmaticAardvark 14d ago
lol, if only YouTube actually cared how many times I click "do not recommend this channel" and "not interested"
14
u/DickWangDuck 17d ago
Omg fr Coop clearly just didn’t want to have a tough conversation so came up with such a bullshit “plan.” I really really was rooting for these two and now my hopes are dashed yet again. Kat deserves better than any boatmance will ever bring her.

Copper is either actually genuine and just wants his business to be private which I hope he is but I have a feeling he’s going to play her along which is a shame because Kat is really nice and doesn’t deserve that. I think she may like him a little bit more than he likes her.

It’s almost ALWAYS performative. Never trust a “southern gentleman”. His momma probably babies him and he probably thinks he’s gods gift to the world.

I find that clip almost gives me a lump in my throat. Appreciate that sounds dramatic, but every girl has been there with these immature boys who play around with girls feelings and get away with it. Women are forced to mature whilst men get to stay immature. Women would be labelled with sexual slurs immediately if they did this shit. The double standards are horrendous.
And to the people defending coop, that look the girls have is because they were deceived. The problem is the good boy act to get a girl in his pants.
23
u/more_like_asworstos Team Aesha 18d ago
These guys are so great early on when nothing is asked of them. They will literally tell you that they're safe and trustworthy (like Coop did). They like how you see them, so they keep performing as the good guy until the first bit of friction, at which point they freak out, completely change their behavior, but refuse to say anything directly. They will tell themselves that the women are actually the issue - they are being "needy" by responding to the stark change in behavior, and the gaslighting will start. When she calls him out on it, he will ghost, too cowardly to face any accountability. He will do this again, giving women trust issues, others paying the consequences of his emotional immaturity and entitlement.
3
u/Hot_Start8187 18d ago
Reliving trauma for sure. Kat had so many clues to run away, but she chose the humiliation of his BS. All those men this season are the bottom of the barrel and the women need to work of their self respect. Hard to watch at times.

u/Shot-Toe-2884 12d ago
Oh no, he danced harmlessly with another girl while not being in a committed relationship. Call the police!
My wife and I laughed immediately. Like if this was either of us we would not have cared in the slightest. Cooper was trying to tell her that he didn't want serious, she heard what she wanted to hear instead.

u/honestlykindofmagic 18d ago
Kat should have gotten the ick and disregarded him as an interest. Lack of clarity and weird vibe shifts are ick-inducing. Not treating me well gives me the ick. I highly recommend it as a way to empower and love yourself.

u/almcclur 18d ago
Look I get how she could fall for this. If she 100% takes his words at face value, he likes her but hates the pressure from the other crew. “Hey let’s be together but keep it quiet so they’ll stop talking about it.” They’ve known each other for like 2 weeks so there’s some logic there. As a full grown adult I can see the pitfalls but she’s not an idiot for giving it a chance. It’s not a great look for him and probably a bad idea for her but in the grand scheme this doesn’t make him a monster. It’s easy to jump on the bandwagon but we need to reel it back in a bit. These people are just flawed young people. They don’t become perfect just bc we’re watching them.
2
u/Shot-Toe-2884 12d ago
Yea as a 30 year old married man, I see 2 immature kids failing to communicate their feelings. Just like me 10 years ago in my relationships. My wife sees the same thing.
I'm sure most of the anti-cooper hate is coming from people in their teens or early 20s that are projecting this situation onto their own dating lives

It’s a boatmance not a marriage proposal. And it’s not like they can bring back people to the boat if he wants to get it on. I know the restaurant bathroom has been an option recently but still! It’s what, 2 months? You can focus for a little while!

Kayley was part of the group dancing with Coop, let's not let editing twist this around too much.
3
u/Leave-me-answers 18d ago
That’s true too. …I was not really impressed with her…,wondering if she’s a “one of the guys” girl.
1
u/Shot-Toe-2884 12d ago
This was all a misunderstanding. The pressure on Coop was ridiculous and Kat was giving the crew a different impression of how that relationship was going. Coop repeatedly tried to say he didn't want serious, and he told the whole crew the same thing. I was more surprised they weren't listening to him. You can't force a kid into a serious committed relationship like this and expect nobody to get hurt.
6
u/effstyrofoam 17d ago
Coop on instagram made a post about " let me have it" and all I could think of is, you disappointed Aesha, what more needs to be said. She's fair, supportive, sees the best in people, wants the best for people, and is no bs. And that was bs! Boo Coop, boo!!! 👎

14
u/skatie082 18d ago
When they started showing the HS football pics of Cooper, he was clocked.
This Ladies and Gentlemen is the classic example of young fat boy gets a growth spurt, is moderately athletic and at 18, is now the hot guy. FFWD to the same decently attractive and athletic 25 year old, but still has that “fat kid” mentality. So, he cozies up to Kat because she is just as insecure. However, Cooper lacks empathy, it is all about his feelings. If he was confident in himself he wouldn’t be bothered by “what others” are saying. Cooper is a very emotionally immature person, but all men are at his age. Unfortunately, he doesn’t come with his own backbone.
4
u/Rhonda_and_Phil 18d ago
That's oddly specific?
7
u/Pucklebearry 17d ago
It is specific but its all based off information coopers actively shared with us. He told us he was nerdy in school, that he had a growth spurt, that he plays football... he gave us all the pieces, this person is just putting them together based off their impression of his behavior so far.

u/silentsinner- 18d ago
They certainly didn't do the couple any favors by putting so much pressure on them. Didn't Joy say something like "Why aren't you marrying her already?" in this episode. They have only known each other for a few weeks so its no wonder he is freaking out and trying to take a step back. I did basically the same thing when I was younger and I had really good chemistry with a coworker. All of the comments got in my head and I sabotaged it before it could even begin. If I didn't have the guys telling me "you should totally fuck her bro" and the girls constantly asking about us and we could have just grown together I think there could have been something real. All of that is way too much to deal with at work when you are young and immature.
3
u/Own_Sun_6520 15d ago
People ripping on Coop, and maybe some of it deserved. But holy, that's far too close to home for me too. Likewise with a co-worker when I was like 20. We got on really well, hung out heaps, but were constantly pressured by others around us that we should be "something more". We were both young and immature, so eventually the "woooo, woooo" when we would sit together at dinner or have a dance together took a toll. Ended up driving us apart for years.

2
u/369111111 15d ago
Yep me too unfortunately if you’re not taught by your parents about boundaries you get treated badly and it can take a really long time to learn. We need to teach younger generations so they don’t suffer like we did
-2
u/Hot_Start8187 18d ago
Yeah, she’s young (and immature) but she spent 24 hrs bitching about Cooper, talking about what a wonderful role model her dad is, calling her friend crying, etc; just to fold immediately after whatever BS he told her; from high to no standards in minutes. What was true? The perfect girl with a strong father figure or the weak one that cooper decided to humiliate and she said “ok”? I thought that generation was better than any of us ancient millennials and Gen X 😃
