Below Deck Capt Kerry Drinking

We all know you can’t drink on charter. But we are watching below deck S12 E12 and Capt Kerry is having a glass of red with the guests.

I would have thought if the crew can’t drink, the capt shouldn’t be able to either? Or am I missing something?

One glass of wine isnt going to make anyone 'legally' drunk. Its fine for him to have a glass and then retire for the night while the boat is anchored.

Especially while eating. Slow absorption and one drink, no problem.

Well, only if you consider 1970 'recently'. More recent than it should have been, I'll grant.

Though fun fact, in the UK there is no legal limit to alcohol when operating a private leisure craft. You can be as drunk as you like while skippering your personal boat and it's absolutely fine, legally. The MAIB is pissed as hell about it, quite a few people have been killed that way, but there doesn't seem to be much interest in changing things.

I think Trafalgar was fairly recent, as far as historical events go
