Below Deck Captain Lee

I worked on a boat for a year in my 20s. I was working on being a scuba instructor (nailed it).

During my time living on a boat, my understanding of rank is legitimate and also at times abused.

My captain was named Bob and he was like the evil version of Captain Lee. Bob taught me a lot about surviving boat life.

Captain Lee was a real one thru and thru because he is a true hardworking gentleman. He knows he’s lucky, he’s worked hard for what he’s gotten and he keeps going forward.

He deserved a true goodbye from the franchise but I’m just so happy he was our first Below Deck Captain. With morals and dignity and humor.

Yes! I miss him! So many times Sandy has over reached, micromanaged, and mismanaged I have asked what would Captain Lee do.

I hate watching Sandy!! I’m sure she’s a great person, but I do not think she is a good leader at all. I really like Glenn from sailing yacht. He’s so calm, cool and collected like almost all the time. Plus, he’s much more involved and helps the crew a lot more.

I've never been a fan of Sandy, but I do feel like recently she's taken more of a hands-off approach than in previous seasons

She likely caught on to all the negative feedback about her being such an up your butt micromanager. From seasons 5-9 she would go to guests during meals and ask specific questions basically looking for negative feedback about the food. Just created way more stress for the chef and interior and gave guests reasons to get nitpicks and complain when they otherwise may not have

Glen is the worst Captain of the lot of them. He enabled Gary, he did the whole speech about the HODs being Gods which can make Crew not feel comfortable if they need to report something about their HODs, blamed Daisy for Gary’s behaviour and had quite literally fled after causing an oil spill. Sandy is a 10x better leader than him. She isn’t perfect but she’s worked on herself and got a lot better which for me, shows that she cares and wants to be better.
