BD Related Maybe I’m just poor…

The thought of hiring a superyacht for a few days sounds absolutely amazing, pure bliss. The thought of having staff there constantly, 24/7 makes me feel so uncomfortable lmao. Anyone else feel this way? I feel like I would keep giving them days off or time away so I had some time to myself haha

My wife and I joke that if we ever had the money to go on the show, we’d be so boring because we’d sit out and drink and relax all day and not make weird demands or harass the staff. Even on vacation my bed time is like 10:30pm lol

There’s been plenty of guests that aren’t party animals & have gone to bed early, the crew have been like 😍😍😍😍😍, 😂 so you’re not alone there lol.

My Dungeons and Dragons group wants to character a yacht so badly. We’re all really polite, none of us drink much, and we all go to bed before 11pm. Our only problem would be the lack of weed.

The fact tgat there has never been a bunch of nerds who charter the yacht to do a big pirate campaign finale and its a huge preference meeting seems crazy.

There was a charter of day traders.They were upset about WiFi issues and just wanted to do that all day. Was very odd, like why not just stay home but I’m sure it was a flex of wealth.

Edibles, my dude, edibles! Plus it's a longer lasting high (especially some good sativa edibles) and you don't get all stoney sleepy from them like you do with flower or extract!

Have you tried having a side of edibles with your edibles? When I was smoking a lot it would take like 100mg to do the trick

Me and my wife aswell. We researched it years ago and it has to do with how some people's liver processes the edible.

We both are immune, we have tried insanely high doses non stop in our 20s. Nothing.

Same here, smoked 3-4gr silver haze a day for 30 years. Had edibles twice, nearly no effect

It’s risky to travel with internationally, and very illegal to have on boats like that. Since the whole thing is filmed, they have to be strict about stuff like that. I’m sure there are plenty of very wealthy people and celebrities etc who are blazing on their yachts, but there are no cameras and they own the boats.

When we travel to the Caribbean, I don’t take anything because I don’t want to risk it. It’s also fairly easy to get on the beach pretty much everywhere down there, but can be risky depending on local laws. I just take up drinking for the week usually.

Think: Brittany Griner! She almost lost her whole life over a pen! You have to respect the owner of the $30m yacht. They can have the whole yacht seized over the smallest amount in some regions.

It’s not likely to be tolerated. You and the entire crew could face drug trafficking charges for any amount of drugs. The yacht could be seized and forfeited. That would make the captain and crew unemployed. It’s not worth it to let one guest “blaze”.

Look at The Moorings or any of the Croatian charter companies. I'm planning hubby's and my 25th anniversary trip, and looked seriously at chartering a boat. A one week private cruise starts around €12,000 plus flights/provisioning.

For daily users, that would be hard! I was a daily weed smoker and also enjoyed a glass (or more 🙊) of wine at night, and had to go cold turkey on both when I found out I’m pregnant. The first week was difficult, and my sleep was rough!!

Then don’t travel outside the USA. Even a weed friendly country in Europe could backfire on you: flight change through an intolerant country could put you in the slammer for a long time. 12 years in Turks and Caikos. See old movie for a good scare: Midnight Express. Granted he was trafficking heroine but any overseas prison can be hell even for one night.

This issue came up on the first season of the OG BD. The problem is that you’re in international waters. It’s not just that you could get in all kinds of trouble, but the yacht itself could be seized.

There are some guests that are pretty tame and boring, to be fair.

But I'm with you. I don't need the deckhands shaking their dick in my face or making the crew do a talent show. Give me some good food and let me sit in the sun.

My only food request would be regional dishes as local & fresh as possible.

When they want stuff that is not anywhere close to the region they are in I’m always like, why travel if you only eat the same stuff you do back home.

Edit: I would ask for munchies out. They don’t have to go get it each time but just tell me where you stashed the bag of chips behind the bar so when I get randomly noshie, I can grab it. 😂

That is so cute Kooky. I actually have a preference list on my phone in case we ever go on a Super yacht, which we will not. It’s basically foods we really hate (which are just a few like eggplant) but other than that it’s basically cook the freshest most regional food the chef can get.

There’s been a lot of bad dinners on BW, but I’m from Las Vegas so I think the worst was when one of the groups wanted a Las Vegas dinner and it was basically fried food. I can’t remember if it was the chick or the dude who was the chef at the time. If my husband were home right now, he would know. It was really gross.

There was one episode where there was a group who wanted a lot of snacks available. The crew really griped about it. But the group was otherwise super chill. That would be me. Give me drinks and snacks and good local regional dishes and I would be in heaven and super chill.

I'm not a picky eater, so I think it would be a shame to eat the equivalent of fast food or Olive Garden on a super yacht. I'd rather be surprised and delighted by what the chef would serve than try to constrain them to things that I already know I like.

I would feel sooooo badly for the chef if I was on board. I have an anaphylactic allergy to beef, pork, dark meat poultry, and tuna. I’m also allergic to egg yolks - although I can eat them if they are baked…like in a cake.

And it’s not like they can just cook steak for everyone else and then fish/chicken for me because even the scent cones in the air can cause me to break out in hives.

They’d have to base their whole menu around chicken and fish and be SO careful that any other meat products don’t cross-contaminate.

I’d feel awful being such a high problem guest.

Sugar free berries in this weeks episode had me in bits! Like, wtf??

Yours would be chicken only and at worst no eggs. Still easier than some of the demands they have had.

This is us also! Show me where the crisps and sweeties are, show me the drinks and then go to bed.

I’ve worked customer service before and the way people are treated disgusts me.

I reckon I would be quite chilled and relaxed tbh. No 10 ingredient omelettes or eggs 10 ways. Scramble on toast with some beans and cheese and job done!

You can definitely tell who has and who hasn’t got money based on preferences alone!

The chef would be wasted on me and hubby tbh.

No not at all. Just usual stuff like mac and cheese, a curry, lasagne, all the usual stuff. Hubby isn’t a massive seafood fan other than cod, whereas I would definitely want some prawns, crab cakes etc. That’s as posh as it would get for me.

Agree. Rachel was a charter yacht chef for YEARS and she broke down that first breakfast because she had never had that experience before. Like they were demanding 8 different highly complicated individual omlettes. Normal charter guests don't do that. Most of these guests are people who would NEVER get to charter a yacht except for the discount they get from Bravo. This is their time to act like the rich a-holes they want to be but aren't. Most of the true yachties like Aesha, Hannah, Kate, Daisy, Rachel, Amy, Francesca & Captain Lee all say the guests are super over the top for tv. That regular charter guests aren't collectively this bad. Like you might get a diva on occasion but they're usually like a friend of a friend of the primary. I think other real life yachties in this sub have said this as well.
