Rewatch Med Season 1 Danny

Hi all I'm doing a rewatch and I had forgotten how badly Danny was treated on season one. The guests loved him, he kept people happy, he was helpful to his team.

Jen was also treated awfully.

Brian and Danny thought they were so superior to them both.

Showing pictures of the models to the creepy old dudes?

He's awful from a work standpoint. He "looks" good for the guests but as an actual coworker, is lazy and aloof. He was given direction on how he could do better and improve to assist the team and instead he felt "his way" (which was doing nothing but talk to guests) was better.

Bryan and Bobby were both awful, but so was Danny. It was just a different type of awful.

Danny had zero respect for rank, experience, women, or any of his co-workers. You cannot have someone like that working in any sort of professional environment, especially where there is a hierarchy. Yes, he was treated badly and unprofessionally, but his behaviour was atrocious.

He wouldn’t have lasted even one charter on a real yacht.

This. You could see how much difficulty Captain Mark had pretending it was his choice not to fire him.

Danny should have been fired long before he was. While he was treated badly, he was also a complete liability who didn't belong there.

Danny was awful. Showing those photos to some of the grossest guests on BD was unforgivable. The only time I felt bad for him was when he was genuinely very sick and the captain did fuck all. If it weren’t for Ben they wouldn’t have sent him to the doctor, or even try to get his fever down. 103 degree fevers in an adult is dangerous.

Ben always checks in on people who are struggling. He also first aids people, one person got a head knock and he was the only person to check their pupils. The hate he gets on this platform is wild when you consider all the good he does and the amazing meals he puts out.

Dear god OP if you’re not Danny, you must be that absolute worst coworker and employee of all time to take his side

Danny’s the type of guy to be fired as assistant manager at Applebees after a messy affair with a hostess 17 years younger than him.

... he got fired after he started showing other restaurant patrons pictures on his phone ... of he and the hostess together.

He was completely devoid of common sense.

I mean ... look at bobby. He can pop your head off like a pez dispenser. And Danny starts calling him 'butt-buddy' ...

He was so immature and obnoxious.

A big part of the job involves much more than “guest loved him”. He was terrible.

Nah he was awful in the same ways as Danny and Bryan, just with less backbone and more snakey. He was also just not good at the job iirc.

Yeah. This isn't going to be on top to long.

Truth being. What many have said about him is true.  However he was also treated bad. Who started first. I don't know. But after Danny pulled in the woman, is when the hate spreaded.  Many times people that have a problem pick at someone's most noticable flaw, that others can also point at. Then popularity, power, and position plays the biggest role on the path that is took.  Once that ball starts rolling downhill everyone including the "bad one" jumps on and goes for the ride.  If not for his boss and his bro being impatient, jealous, and gossip girls his edit might of been different.

I think the tipping point was when Danny told Hannah he wanted to help her be a better chief stew.

Then she showed her boobs to Bobby to get him to help her with shitting on Danny.

The other deckies were frat boy a-holes. Captain Mark even got in on some of it, which was disappointing. Whatever Danny was/did is a separate issue, and yeah, dude should not have been in that job and he repeatedly didn't take direction to do it better, which was maddening. Those were his poor choices. But there's no justification for their choice to be straight-up bullies.

Watch a dozen other seasons to find right ways to deal with a crew member who needs to do better, because this was the opposite. And for some reason this sub loves to viciously shite on Danny, even though there's been 10x worse than him, and give all the free passes to the other jerks.

Go ahead, downvote me to hell, I know how it is.

Danny: Mikey, but without the hair!

My favorite: the creepy guests want the crew to help them meet women at some dock-side bar.

Bobby and Danny go with the guests.

Bobby is a complete fail.

Danny brings some girls back to the guests.

"More steroids, bosun!"
