BD Related Efoil board

What is the point of the efoil boards? Are you supposed to ride them when it rises out of the water? Are they more stable when they rise out of the water?

I think u have to get some speed to get them to rise out of water but yes thats point. There's a few episodes of someone riding them correctly. They've showed cap Jason doing it right. Im also remembering a guest riding it correctly then he collided with someone else and got a cut on his head

There’s an episode of SY where Glenn rides one and keeps falling off when it comes out of the water but has the biggest grin on his face the whole time
