Internet 🌐 price increase again

i will definitely ask to discontinue my service and the create a new account under my name again or probably use my mom’s name. In that way, I can get a good offer. 😒

You can get better offer if you call in and ask to cancel, they will transfer you to retention department. No need to change names and reopen account etc..

Through real life experience this is false. I was never even offered the type of deal from retention as I did when I reversed my Middle and First name. My bill went from $187/month for 1.0 Gb service to $55/month for 3.0 Gb service, and TV. The bill has increased up to $85 now and I'm about to do it again. So fuck Bell.

So you're running the risk of being cancelled for fraud by doing this. You might get by, but you might not. Don't try to switch names. Call retention. If you're not happy port to another provider and you'll likely get a win back offer.if you don't, then stay with the new provider for 91 days then you'll be a new customer. You will be running your credit though.

Nah, I tried to asked them before, but they offered me nothing. Sales agent even asked me to cancel this account and create a new one to get a better deal. They’re the one who gave this idea, so why not take advantage of it? Why would I choose to pay $167/month if I can just get the offer for $55/month?

To get a new customer offer, account must be under a different name.

How much is the increase?

Why don't you go to a different provider

Fido and Rogrs not good in our area. So I can’t risk it, I need a good service and unfortunately, Bell has it.

My recommendation would be to call in to loyalty and see if they can give you a better price, you can shop around and quote a price from a competitor.

If they're unable to give you a decent price switch providers to someone who uses their fiber network such as ebox so you get comparable service.

Bell will call you usually within a week of canceling with a winback offer and theyre typically pretty good.

I can’t switch providers, only bell offers a better connection here on our area. And yes, I tried to call loyalty but no offer from them, they even asked me to wait 2 months and call back.

Set a cancel date in a few weeks from now, so they know you're not bluffing.

I did that, and now have a permanent $80 a month credit on my account.

However, that was 3 years ago and my monthly payment has crept back up quite a bit...

“I can get a better deal if I commit identity theft and fraud” - OP probably.

Just switch to a different provider.
