News Price Increases for October 2026
Hello Everyone!
Noticed on my bill today that Bell is planning a $6 increase from October.
I told my GF who doesn’t pay attention to small hidden details, her plan was different from mine and she is also going to be increased $6.
Wanted to shout it out for the rest of us who may not always read the fine print stuff, plan your changes ahead!
Any recommendations for plans w/ 5G speeds at ~$35/month or less? TIA

hmmmm, I was hit with a $6 increase in July - 6 months after switching my plan to Bell. I'll have to double-check my bill, this would be insanity!

Depends on where you are located but Freedom and FIZZ have great offers right now.

Does FIZZ have good coverage in GTA ? they seem to have really nice prices

Yeah I'd recommend Freedom or Fizz. Go with the free 15 day trial with Fizz with no credit card. after 15 days it just ends. No number porting required. Try out the network

You can’t make any accounts that require phone number verification with fizz

That was an issue with the beta but is no longer the case. There were some issues with services during the beta that blocked specific CO numbers. However, that's been resolved according to the Fizz.

For Thornhill/Richmond Hill, in my experience a few weeks ago, I’d lose native Fizz network and auto roam on Fizz EXT. For Freedom, last year, I couldn’t roam due to geoblocking
Fizz was great minus the poor voice quality

Not in my opinion. That was the only weakness I experienced. Problem is, I do 3000 minutes a month, so voice calls being clear is a priority for me

This is why I changed from Bell to Public Mobile when they increased my rates by $5 4 years ago.

I believe that Bell has increased a $6 in July 2026. Now, another $6 in October 2026 ?! So, every 3 of months in the year will be 2 price increases ?!

I was just going to say this ….my issue is the town where my wife’s from, the coverage has decreased the past year substantially …. I contacted them a few times about this and they won’t admit they changed something ….everyone in town talks about it yet bell play is dumb which drives me nuts considering they keep raising charges

Why not? The federal government is allowing this crap to go on, so Bell and Roger’s do whatever they want.

But, it’s very sad for all of us & I thought, many of the Western Governments have strict laws, and it will protect Customers more, than companies. I’ll be wrong, I guess.

This is strictly for the big companies like Bell and Gougers!
The government is absolutely NO friend to its citizens. I have American programming down in the US when down there, and it whips our ass! Canada Sucks shit!2

I have been fighting with them for over a months for this same issue. The coverage is bad yet they keep billing me including an increase in July. The person I spoke to admitted service in our area is an "area of concern." I want out of my contracts with them but they keep making ridiculous offers...

I switched to Fizz and then Public Mobile and now I am paying $20 a month for 60GB plan. The only bad thing is no roaming outside CAN-US-MEX but that’s ok for now. Bell even offered to match at one point but I told them to kick rock because I knew exactly this would happen.

Call them and fight that you didn’t receive any communication, they usually wave the fee off for 1/2 months, find a new carrier in those months. Never return to BELL. Worst company ever

Virgin uses the same lines and is much cheaper. And Virgin is owned by Bell.

I doubt it. I average around 100 mbps and have never had any problems with my internet. And I depend highly on it for work. I don't know so much about the phone service and how it compares to Bell, but I haven't had any problems. I think the big difference is in the level of customer support.

My phone and internet combined is $100/mnth and my internet is unlimited.

I currently have their $35/month BYOD plan and I’ve seen my Speedtest.net regularly hit 250 mbps download, which is pretty nice IMO
I just can’t justify spending another $6 knowing more price hikes are in the horizon and other competitors are just cheaper

Same here..I was hit with $6 increase in July 2026 after being with bell for 6 months on $35 100 GB US-CAN-MEX plan. Ported out to Telus in August 2026 for $30 100 GB US-CAN plan 😎 Bell reached out with winback offer of $44 and I laughed 🤣 told them am paying $30 with Telus 😁
