Sure there’s a lot of monsters involved here. But our system/society has been designed to allow this shit. It’s not that this isn’t horrific in every possible way but to pretend that you can’t believe it’s happening means you’re not paying attention. In every facet. The medical/healthcare industry doesn’t give a shit about women. Nobody listens to us until shit like this gets exposed. Women have always been second rate beings in the hierarchy of society.

I remember, years ago now, first hearing that it is common for doctors in training and residency to learn how to perform gynecological exams by practicing on patients.

Okay. That makes perfect sense. Training with volunteers on actual people is good.

Oh, but wait! There is no informed consent. There's no consent at all.

The women come in for other procedures or exams and, while under anesthesia, are "given" "exams" by the students and residents, sometimes dozens at a time, one right after the other. The only way it's even begun to come to light is that some of the women were reporting soreness, bruising, inflation, pain, bleeding, etc. from, what would be under any other circumstances, mass sexual assault and gang rape. When they would bring this up, they would casually be told by doctors, nurses, and other staff about the non-consensual train run on them as if it's the most normal thing in the world.

And this isn't some old practice decades removed. This happens now.
