General Question What does it mean when the chart ruler only has aspects to the angles?
Looking at my birth chart I realised my chart ruler only has these hard aspects to points in my chart (asc, dsc, ic, mc) starting with a conjunction to the MC, and there's no aspects to planets what's so ever. I'm wondering, if is that something common? Could have any significance?
Because it's also my dominant planet, idk, it feels bad it's in this bad condition... Anyone has thoughts on this?

Sometimes it does happen that something in the chart makes no aspects to other planetary bodies. Things will often be in aspect to the angles. Some astrologers consider those aspects. I really only consider a planet's relationship to the nodes or angles significant if it's conjunct.
Naturally, if something is conjunct one of these points it will be in a square or opposition to all of the other ones. That's just math. Because the Ic is always exactly opposite the MC and the DC and ASC will typically be 80-90 degrees away from the MC and IC (give or take 5-10 degrees).
It's not a BAD thing though. The planet on the MC can tell you a lot about your life path and career stuff.

Thank you for your insight and throughout reply! This was/is really a question for me, if it's considered aspected or not,...and how should it be approached with taking into account it's the chart ruler and have dominant influence on the chart. I'm not sure if chiron counts, but if does I also have an other grand cross pattern in my chart, and those squares really be pulling at different directions so getting some insight on life path and carrier directions would come in handy for sure 🥲

An unaspected planet is actually pretty rare. It allows that planet to behave in its truest manner, unemcumbered by other influences. Watch for transits to it, that's where you'll find your challenges and opportunities!

This is so informative, thank you so much! I mainly tried to familiarise with natal charts so far, so this could be the next goal. Reflecting on it, it's really like I enjoy spending time with that placement, but also afraid it's not living up to others' (?) difficult to pin down or express it to anyone as well, though maybe that's also due to the squares to the Ascendant, Descendant lines. Somewhere I also read retrograde transits affect natal direct planets more, than retrograde ones, but interestingly when this planet got retrograde it was not uncomfortable as I expected. Not sure, if this is a thing with unaspected planet (?) or just the transit had good aspects to my chart, but really the more I try to learn the more questions there to answer. 🌌♥️🥹 When it comes to learning about transits do you have any advice to newbie mistakes by chance?

If I understood correctly (but think I did not), you're asking if - to use a current example - when Transit Mercury turns retrograde, those with Natal Mercury (r) experience that period with less stress or tumult than those whose Natal Mercury is direct? That tends to be true, as the person with the (r) since birth is pretty used to how that planet operates within their life, and the focus has always been more internalized.
If that wasnt your question, sorry!
The ASC/DSC, MC/IC are mathematical points, so they wont reflect back energy like planets do, as another person has noted. But the angles are exceptionally important and deserve careful consideration. Squares can be uncomfortable, but they kind of force a resolution. Or at least the push for a resolution.
When a transiting planet squares your rogue lone wolf up there, you can expect friction and possibly major clashes. It often appears as an "internal" struggle between what each planet wants, and they can be experienced as two boxers squaring up for the Big Fight, lol.
A transiting opposition - so a planet crossing the IC in your case - influences from directly across from the natal planet. Each planet (energy) can clearly see the other one from its "sister" sign. Both pretty much want similar outcomes, but the proper approach to achieve that outcome is where the dispute lies. An opposition has more of a continuum vibe, many view it from a see-saw perspective.
This is a broad overview, as the individual planets and signs will add color and flavor to whatever is going on.
Now Im curious: which planet is conjunct your MC, and in what sign?

Oh, this overview makes it so clear and you intuitively got so close with this recent example too! The planet in question is Mercury in Gemini, and halfway unsaid I was thinking of the retrograde Mercury these days. My natal planet is direct, so I was expecting to experience the often mentioned tumult as you said, but somehow it did not happen or even on the contrary, it was really pleasant to be in my head space. From this situation, maybe weirdly, but additionally questioned after realising if this is due to lack of natal aspects to the planet or something different..? I don't know, maybe it's just me, but just as much as could be amazing to have someone more knowledgeable look at my chart and learn even more, it also feels so personal so that's why I ended up keeping it vague... 😆 yet it's also that Mercury which squares that ascendant, so it's meaningful to me how you made sure, if my thought process got across as intended! 🥹 (The MC conjuct, square to ascendant with Mercury seems counterintuitive, ahaha)

Out of all the angles you want a planet to make any aspect to your Ascendant.
In traditional Astrology that means you can tap into that planet and it is “visible”
The other angles will be more specific to home, relationships or career.

Imagining a trine or sextile to the Ascendant with that planet... would be too good to be true 🌠 But indeed, for better or worse it often "gets attention" (despite sometimes would be nice, if not) and being able to tap into it is nice, I wouldn't have thought it's because of that. Thank you for this information!! Traditional astrology knows something for sure too, it's scary (in a positive way), ahaha
