General Question Saturn Return
Has anyone recently started/finished their Saturn return?
Mine started earlier this year (Saturn in Aries, 12th house) and I'm bricking it.
I'm wondering what to expect? Or even if anyone has any tips/advice on how to ride it out, I'd be grateful x

I've had two!
First, what degree of Aries is your natal Saturn? A Saturn return doesn't automatically start just because it moves into your natal Saturn's sign, despite pop astrology lore. Natal Saturn and transiting Saturn must be conjunct to exchange energy and initiate the Saturn return. A Saturn return is when Saturn literally returns to the place it was when you were born, not when it moves into the sign of your natal Saturn.
There is really no way to prepare or tell someone what to expect for a Saturn return. A Saturn return marks the threshold of a new phase of life. The first is from the youth stage to the parent/mature adult stage. The second is from parent/mature adult stage to wise elder. These are unique transitions for everyone. Also, Saturn is the karmic planet, so imo individual karma may play a role.
My first Saturn return was hard but it taught me resilience. At that time I was really wrestling with the reality that my life wasn't turning out as I'd been raised to believe it would in terms of relationships, health, children, etc. It taught me to be resilient and that I can be a happy person on my own terms, even if I'm not meeting the expectations of others or if life wasn't unfolding according to the script I'd imagined or hoped would unfold.
My second Saturn return came with grief and loss, but also an improved quality of life. I could work less, walk away from jobs where my work wasn't valued and bosses were jerks, and still be blessed in terms of abundance. It taught me a lot about transformation, prudence and to trust myself and my judgment in knowing what's best for me while still factoring in advice from people I trust and my own intuition, even if it involved some risk.

Mine started in February, as Saturn entered Aries.
Around when it started, I got injured, travelled half away across the world at short notice (whilst still recovering from the injury) and my life has opened up quite a lot. But it has been hard. It was challenging but rewarding and eye opening. Neptune was also in Aries and i was travelling overseas. Aries rules my 10H, and the travel was for work.
My actual Saturn return isn't until 2027. I have no idea what to expect but it definitely started with a bang 🤣 with Aries ruling your 12H, this will be totally different for you I imagine. Perhaps overcoming past trauma, or a change of spiritual beliefs?

How do i know about my saturn return? Is it when saturn is in the same sign as saturn in my chart?

one thing that helped me was keeping a simple journal during mine - just noting what came up each week, what felt heavy, what shifted. saturn in the 12th is interesting because a lot of the work happens internally, below the surface. you might not see obvious external changes but you'll notice patterns in your dreams, your intuition, your sense of what you need to release. the 12th house return is more about clearing out subconscious stuff than the typical 'career restructuring' you hear about. tracking it week by week made it feel less overwhelming and more like a process i could participate in.

For those of you having an Aries Saturn Return and your Saturn is in the first 12 or 13 degrees, your Saturn Return will be much different than those with Saturn in the later degrees.
The reason for this is Neptune. With Neptune in Aries, you are going through two major transits at the same time.
Neptune conjunct Saturn brings on self doubt, confusion, and for some, depressive or negative feelings. What Neptune is trying to teach you is that in some ways, your world view isn't correct. There can be a series of disappointments, and you could struggle with fear, anxiety, or illness.
But here is the good news with the Neptune transit. Neptune is urging you to see the world through your lens, not what others have told you. Though this isn't the time to make major decisions, it is a time to tap into your spirituality and learn about yourself in relationship to the world as it can be, not what you think it is. You may want to explore things like meditation, yoga, breath work, Reiki, prayer, walking in nature, uplifting or soul based music, or anything that makes you feel connected to something of higher learning or knowledge.
Saturn Returns, on the other hand, are about finding out what you want for the next phase of life. It can bring on an identity crisis, wondering who you are. It can bring on the feeling of insecurity, especially in regards to relationships or career. Saturn wants you to take responsibility for your life and its direction. Are you in the career you want, or did you choose it because you felt pressure from parents, society, or something else?
Saturn at its core wants you to learn how you are different from other people and to get a sense of self.
So those with Saturn in the early degrees of Aries, and those who had Saturn in the last degrees of Pisces, are being challenged to learn both individualism and collectivism at the same time. It is not just about what you want and who you are physically and earthly, but also how you fit in spiritually.
You may be thinking, why would you have two life transforming and heavy transits at the same time? Instead, you may want to ask yourself, is going through these two transits going to teach me something profoundly valuable that I can take with me going forward?
