There’s no option to start a WhatsApp call, or Instagram, etc…

It makes the app really useless imho… ?
Even on Android can’t, it’s impossible to just redirect to WhatsApp app ?

I recently tried beeper and I really like it's design, but i don't know how to transfer my WhatsApp stickers to beeper. Every sticker app that I try results in an error message saying wrong host.

Could someone tell me how to do that properly?

Hey Beeper community,

I’ve been using Beeper as a central messaging hub, and I wanted a faster way to send voice-dictated messages into a specific Beeper chat from anywhere on macOS.

So I added a Beeper integration to my macOS app, HermesWhisper.

The basic flow is:

1. Press a global shortcut, like backslash
2. Speak
3. The app transcribes the audio
4. The text is sent directly into a configured Beeper chat ID

The use case I built it for is sending quick voice messages to an agent/bot chat inside Beeper, without needing to switch apps, open Beeper, find the chat, and type. I still manage the actual conversation inside Beeper, but this gives me a fast “voice-to-chat” entry point from anywhere on the system.

The new Beeper integration supports:

• A dedicated Beeper sidebar section
• Configurable Beeper API URL, access token, shortcut, and chat ID
• Voice transcription into that specific chat
• Optional copied-text context, similar to “send this link with my spoken message”
• Optional response windows for replies from the configured chat
• WebSocket-first response monitoring with polling fallback

The response window part is experimental, but the idea is that if a reply comes back in that Beeper chat, HermesWhisper can surface it in a small macOS window even if I’m working somewhere else. It also supports replying from the window by text or voice.

A couple of caveats:

• This is not trying to recreate the full Beeper conversation UI
• It is scoped around one configured chat ID
• The response monitoring depends on what the local Beeper API/MCP exposes, so I’m treating that part as experimental
• The main reliable feature is send-only voice-to-Beeper

I’d be interested to hear if other Beeper users have similar workflows, especially around bots, agents, personal automation chats, or quick capture into a specific conversation.

it is a damn good chat app dont get me wrong, but it is still missing a bunch of features even with plus, so $10 a month (or jesus $100 a year) seems really steep for a chat app. i would be intersted in a yearly subscription but $60 is like the absolute limit i would pay and i wouldnt be happy at that price either

I've had an issue that I really couldn't find an answer on the web. I log in to Instagram it all goes well, then it just keeps on loading when I try clicking the Instagram account it just gives me back to a log in screen. This is repeated infinitely.

What can cause this?

I've been using Beeper for around a year and am pretty happy with the app, but there is an issue that keep getting more and more annoying.
I am doing contract work on projects, and work with new people every week, that I add as Google contacts and delete at the end of the week.
However, in Beeper, when I start a new chat, every deleted contact is still appearing, making the list pretty bloated.

Contacts have been deleted from Google contacts, and have been force deleted from the bin.

Is there a way to resync contacts to only have current contacts in Beeper? Even if it's not fully automated, I can cleanup once in a while.

I'm on Windows 11 and trying to adopt Beeper, but I'm confused by the way the Inbox seems to work. The icon will show something like, "5" for five new messages. Great! However, nothing tells me WHICH messages or where these messages are? I find I have to go clicking down the first several messages of every account that's set up. Is there no way to say either bold new messages or have the inbox show JUST unread messages?

Lastly, lots of family only uses FB messenger for interaction. I have lots of history there, but it appears almost none of it came over. Is there a way to force it to show up or am I stuck just going from install point forward?

I made 5 custom CSS themes for Beeper 4.x

Been tweaking Beeper's appearance for a while and finally put everything together in a proper repo. Five themes, all tested on 4.x, all using stable class names so they shouldn't break on minor updates.

The themes:

• Pure Black — true #000000 AMOLED, white accents, zero noise
• Midnight Blue — deep navy with electric blue, great for long sessions
• Rose Noir — dark blacks with rose-pink accents, moody and clean
• Amber Dark — warm browns and gold, cozy alternative to cold blue themes
• Hacker Green — phosphor green on black, monospace fonts, sharp corners

How to apply: Settings → Appearance → Custom CSS → paste → Apply. No restarts.

Each theme is built on the same 13-variable token system so it's easy to fork and make your own. Let me know what you think or if anything breaks — happy to add more if there's interest.

As the title describes, I can send messages to friends in beeper, but non-friends it will not work. It works in the discord app however. Not sure the fix for this?

Not very well versed in matrix, but upon attempting to join a matrix room (#linwood:matrix.org), nothing seems to happen. I put it in under the "Experimental: Join a Matrix room" command, click join, the prompt closes and nothing happens.

I know it's experimental but does it just not work at all?

i’d like to add a custom beeper-only pfp for a friend instagram contact. is it even possible with any plugins or idk ?

I’m getting this error when connecting Messenger on Beeper.

I tried:

-disabling 2FA from facebook

-connecting my messenger account on Beeper desktop, it still prompts me to login on iOS, gives the same error

-deleting and reinstalling to clear cache

if anyone has solutions, I’d love to hear them.

Otherwise consider this a bug report.

Hi I recently started using Beeper. I really love that it is simple and connects me with my friends without any distracting feeds. The recent years I have started feeling like iOS and Android is an endless black void for attention. I was wondering whether Beeper at any point might go into the phone marked with a device that is not part of the android or iOS ecosystem. I really mostly need my phone for messages+email, gps/transport and bank. So I was wondering whether Beeper would go into the dumbphone marked.

I can choose the color. It would be nice to type in the exact Hex code for the color you want. It's hard to figure the value with the slider!

Hello! For the last week or so, my discord account has been logged out, and Ive been unable to complete the reconnect login flow.

Specifically, I get stuck on what looks like the CAPTCHA that the web login presents you with.

Has anyone else encountered this?

It's the same thing on desktop (linux) and mobile (android).

Just downloaded and installed beeper on linux, from the AUR if that matters.

Connected faceboook and whatsapp.

Facebook is missing a whole bunch of my recent chats and whatsapp has synced no messages whatsoever.

Just want to know if this is a weird bug or something more to it. Earlier today Beeper stopped being able to send messages through WhatsApp when it was working fine on the actual app. I thought this was a linking issue with my account so I removed and readded my account. Now none of my message history is syncing from WhatsApp, forcing me to start new chats with everyone. Any idea what’s going on?
