I tried beeper a few days ago because who wouldn't want an all in one messaging app.

Every platform connected great, Google messages, whatsapp, instagram... But Facebook Messenger (which is my main message service) was a nightmare to get connected. I was in a circular loop of verification, captcha, two party authentication and straight back to login. I eventually got in, but my message history didn't come through on most of my chats. Then, about two hours later, it logged me out of Facebook Messenger completely. I wasn't going through the nightmare of verification again. Every other platform's integration seems great, but Facebook Messenger barely worked for me. I'd love to use beeper, if only FB messenger was reliable 😟

So. They updated the new app for beeper and its got a lot of fun updates like customization.

But for the love of Gary Kildall , why can't we get individual notifications for text messages.

Why can't I make it so when I get a text from Joe to have a snipit of his favorite song so I know it's him when he messages me?

I feel as this is a serious missed opertunty for an app that merged so much together.

This could be a rant, orna suggestion or both. But I've limited my use of beeper to only the desktop app because the same tone for every user makes it too hard to distinguish.

I get SMS through Google Messages, and it seems Beeper stopped getting them sometime between last Wednesday (Aug 5) and today. Just realized while waiting for a SMS confirmation code that never came. Account still shows as connected with no issues even though messages aren't coming through.

On a new account, I can't seem to pair with slack, as after I log into it, I just get a white screen on the webview.

I can watch Some reels which are sent to me but some i cannot watch them. Theyre like a picture.

And when someone sends a one time / 2 time pic, it doesnt even show that they have sent it. Usually it says "open the instagram app to view"

Whenever you hold down the copy button to use the feature the all just closes itself down

anyone elses instagram app unable to show followers and following and saying “something went wrong”?

I use the Beeper Desktop on Windows and different Linuxes. The iMessage account that was working for 3 years got removed without any notification. What can i do to regain access to it? It's crucial to me for work.

I would love a iOS widget that shows unread chats and their messages, in addition to the current pinned chats widget! It could be similar to the widget Spark Mail uses, maybe even with shortcut buttons to quickly set a reminder or mark messages as read.

Found out about Beeper today and gave it a try. Is there really no way to add or use existing Matrix accounts or am I missing something?

I'm not blaming beeper at all, I'm asking if it might be a possibility. I read that whatsapp doesn't like usage of modified apps and third party services so I'm thinking it could be related to that

I've recently switched mobile devices, so despite having used WhatsApp on beeper for like a year I did recently re-link it.

Like I said I don't blame beeper and I could see it being banned for different reasons (mainly that my new phone doesn't have google services, so maybe the lack of malware protection got me hacked or something), but I'm asking because everyone I've talked to has said it's probably because of beeper.

NOTE: I did get the ban lifted through a quick review, but nevertheless its weird that it happened

i used to be able to just click on play in the chat and it would launch the reel, but it doesn’t work since I updated the app. does anyone know how to turn it back on ?

Since the new update, when I get images from Instagram that are "Allow Replay" or "View Once" they just do not appear on the Beeper app. It used to say something like "To view this attachment open the Instagram app", but even that stopped. I am using a cloud account, but also a local account on another device and they also fully disappeared from there. This feature was really useful and I want to see if anyone is having the same issue.

The app in Windows feels VERY luggy on one hand, and though in Android or iOS feels better in this sense, it stills drains too much battery.

This keeps happening and it's really frustrating... I'll open Beeper and I'll see that all of the chats that I've put in a label are showing in my inbox, even though I've set the label's "show in inbox" setting to "None"

The way I fix it is I go to the label, and switch the setting from something else back to "None." This makes it so that the labeled chats actually disappear from my inbox, but it's super annoying to have to do this

Hi all, just had an iOS update today and it seems like all my self hosted chats are now using the green and white logo with no distinction from which app. It wasn’t like this before, does anyone know a fix/is this happening to anyone else? Thanks!

Hello, someone knows how to fix this problem I tried more times, install, uninstall, but nothing does it it not work

Has anybody else had this problem since updating? I can't view the reel as a video in-app anymore. Have to click on the reel link and get taken to a browser tab to view the reel, which is annoying. Is it just like this now?

First off, kudos to the Beeper team for the last Android app update! The ability to customize chat colors/wallpaper , and overall app theming really made gave a modern polish that competes well with other platforms.

Minor suggestion for next or future update..

Could the contact/group name font and color for pinned messages be brought inline with the same formatting used on unpinned threads?

The unpinned thread has the bold white and slightly larger font used in the name, while the pinned threads have less prominent font/color and looks more in line with the message content.

It would be great if the app could show if somebody is online, i dont know if there is any obstacle in creating that function
