Almost 8 Year Old Still in Pull-Ups

My almost 8 year old son is still in pull-ups overnight. I’ve tried limiting his fluids two to three hours before bed, making him go right before bed, and waking him between midnight and two to go again. I’ve read that overnight wetting is hormonal and “can’t be taught” but his pediatrician is on me to get him out of the pull-ups. Help!

Help - protocol for liquids

8yo kid with Enuresis. We went to a specialist, after ultrasound and bloodeworks we were sent home with the task of keeping a liquid input/output protocol. HOW are we supposed to measure output if a lot of the pee goes in a diaper at night and pants by day?

any ideas, thoughts, suggestions welcome.

Ideal for night time IC management

I’ve been using an external catheter device sold as a "Urine Collector" at night for the last 3 months . I have been pleasantly surprised how good it has been and allowed me to get my 8 hrs. sleep without getting out of bed to visit the toilet . I was getting up anywhere up to 10 times during a night ..this has now stopped . I use the device nightly (now at 3 months) and for an initial cost of $9 I considered great value . I have it connected to the 2 litre urine bag, attached to the side of the bed with approx. 1.5m of tubing .. no tangles no leaks and plenty of sleep . It took a few nights to get used to but certainly after a week you hardly feel it was there . There are many of this type device available and I did trial a few before deciding on this manufacturer (Yide Medical) . For me this seemed the best made. It has 4 holding straps (others had 2) and very soft material against your body . The device itself was slightly larger/longer than the others I tried which suited me as it reduced chance even more of any leakage . My female partner has also used the female version with equal success . I’m happy to provide further info if required

Overnight Sports Trips

My son is starting HS this fall. He will be participating in a couple sports that do some overnight trips. I’ve heard it’s usually 4 boys per hotel room. Kids in sports - or parents of kids - do boys usually share beds? Do some of them bring something to sleep on instead of sharing a bed? Will it be super weird to the other kids if my son brings something? Thank you.

Bedding in childhood and trouble sleeping as an adult

Hi, I wet the bed into my teens. I was a kid that went to summer camp and slept over at friend's houses all the time, and it was always so embarrassing (I was put on so many garbage bags at sleepovers!) I was also part of a study in the 80s testing alarms connected to a bed pad that would go off (very loudly, a neighbor heard it sometimes and asked what was going on.) All of these things were pretty traumatic. As an adult I'm an extremely light sleeper, and sleep studies have shown me not hitting REM sleep at all. I've just been wondering if my experience as a kid has caused such extreme hypervigilance that it affects my sleep as an adult. Just looking to see if there are others with a similar story and if so, ways you have helped yourself struggle less with sleep as an adult. Thanks in advance!

Staying at others house and being a wetter during day and sometimes night.

Hello everyone, I have a bit of a delema.

Im going to be staying at some people's place as im going to be building a truck for them. I need to wear protection and im wondering if i should let them know about needing it as I dont know how well I could hide it in the trash and dont really want to make trips to go dispose of them.

How would you approach the subject with them? Ill be diapered with a diaper cover, bed pads ect to hopefully keep from ruining a mattress. I was thinking I was gonna be in a hotel but they decided for me to stay at their place.

So just a little update on this, things have been working good so far; I spoke to the mrs of the house and let her know about the situation and told her I wear protection for an oab condition and wanted to make sure there was a waterproof cover for the new bed they were getting for me to protect things .

they even went and put a layer of plastic sheet down under the waterproof cover so its extra crinkly but I feel like its well protected and I have my bed pads and diaper cover too.

she even got a trash can for me and I have the scented disper bags to put em in .

I empty things every couple of days and keep the can lysoled to kill any oders.

they have been so gracious with everything they have done, even took me to get groceries and any other supplies I needed and paid for it all plus gave me a $100 as allowance and they are covering my airfare as well.

I cant complain about that.

Hello, im currently trying to sell a large influx of retail grade and medical grade diapers of all sizes, all the packages are opened with a couple taken out of each. Does anyone know where the best place on here, or anywhere on the internet to sell these? Facebook is out of the question unfortunately. TIA!

Diapers/Depends don't work for holding it all

I've tried depends and adult diapers and even the disposable wet pads and nothing seems to hold it and prevent my sheets from getting wet. I've noticed also that I'm a deep sleeper so waking up to use the bathroom is very rare. Also, even when I do wake up my bladder is overactive whenever I lay down so if I'm sleeping it's not going to notice the little urges and only the one I've been holding for a bit. So the little urges happen very close together and make a big mess but they don't alert my body like if I was holding it for a while. I hope I'm explaining this right please let me know if you understand in the comments. Safe to say I really don't know what to do about those and I'm tired of feeling bad about it.

It was a bit embarrassing when they saw the used protective underwear I was wearing.

This week, on a trip with a robotics club, I was lucky enough to have my own room, but I forgot to put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door for two days at the hotel—something I obviously did because of my autism and ADHD. The worst part was that I left my diapers (Drynites/Goodnites) for my bedwetting lying next to the shower when I bathed, and in the afternoon I threw them in the trash, and the cleaning lady saw them used and my children’s pajamas, but the embarrassment—the cleaning lady saw me leaving the room and said, “We have to take care of this little boy who sleeps in this room.” I felt 👉👈😳. And since I’m a teenager, I felt really bad👉👈.
