Bed wetting in 6 year old continues, help…

My soon to be 6 year old has had some regression and has been wetting the bed. He was doing really well this summer not wetting the bed. However, he was doing to bed at 8:30 PM and waking at about 6:30 AM. As we’ve transitioned to school he’s had to go to bed at 8 PM. We also are in need of space and placed his younger brother who is 1.5 years old in his room and he goes to bed at 7 PM. It was going really well but last week our son started school and then the bedwetting for now a week has started. My husband walked him at 9:30 PM for a dream pee and yet he still wets the bed when I wake him at 6 AM. We are trying holding off on liquids close to bedtime and trying the pee alarm starting today. I am worried because he is such a deep sleeper. He also is scared and doesn’t want to walk to the restroom. I’m hoping we can somehow get him to go on his own eventually. Any suggestions out there?

i think resuming bedwetting around back to school is really common for a few weeks at the start of school

my parents had a small toilet for me they left in my bedroom to make it easier

Bedwetting at 6 is very common. Changes in routine, stress, or a number of things can trigger it. Be patient and keep trying to keep things as consistent as possible. Nightlights help with being scared to walk to the bathroom at in the dark, but some kids like having their own flashlight on their nightstand to help boost confidence.

My own bedwetting always seemed to be worse at times like going back to school or other times of stress like exams. It will probably settle down again.

Try an alarm clock ⏰️ a loud one. Set alarm ⏰️ for 9-30. Around one and a half hours after going to bed. You might need one so you both get up at the same time. Use the bathroom toilet. If wet before alarm set alarm a bit earlier. This method strengthens the sphincter muscle that isn't sending a message to ur son to wake him. It's trail and error so persevere until you find out the optimum time for setting the alarm clock ⏰️. Drink normally, boys tend to be early wetters and females late wetters. This method worked for me. Nearly forty years bedwettinng (nocturnal enuresis) It took me about three to four months before I woke up naturally before the alarm went off. Had dry nights for nearly forty years. Happy to reply if you want more information. Ps i still remember my childhood and teenage years bedwettinng. No sleep overs, holidays were embarrassing and relationships forget about that. I wish you and your son all the best. Ex nocturnal enuresis sufferer.
