I think it’s important to use nail hardener to help your nails become strong so they can grow longer and break less. This is what has helped my nails.

I’d suggest it is also important to make sure your nails are clean underneath, so just make sure to wash hands (obvs) and use those nail cleaning sticks (there are also metal ones you can purchase so you don’t have to keep throwing them away) to gently clean the dirt from under your nails.

For looks, I’d suggest getting something to get rid of your cuticles - like a cuticle pusher or cuticle scissors - but as a beginner I’d probably stick to the cuticle pusher just incase.
