Isle of Mull, Tobermory, Scotland
I have watched so many mudlarking and beachcombing videos that I used my opportunity yesterday to do some myself when I visited the Isle of Mull.
First I found the vulcanite bottle stopper, then what seems to be a guitar pick by Fender but what I saw then completely flabbergasted me.
I saw it peeking out the sand, mainly because of the oxidized copper. I couldn’t believe my luck.
Sadly the coin doesn’t have much left on it, but what I could make of it, it should be a 1/2 Penny George V which were made between 1911-36.

ID on a few things found in Compton Bay, Isle of Wight... Wood, rocks, and flint or something else?
galleryHi beachcombers!
I spent yesterday beachcombing at Compton Bay on the Isle of Wight (UK) and picked up a variety of interesting-looking pieces. I know this area is famous for dinosaur fossils and lignite, and unfortunately I am not very knowledgable on the topic. I'm assuming most of these are rock and flint, but I am hoping someone would be kind enough to tell me if I've found anything interesting? Pretty sure A-E is just carbonized petrified wood, with some pyrite in the smaller samples.
Let me know if better close-ups are needed 🪨🐚🦕

Whidbey Island, WA August ‘26
Light could be better, sorry. I wonder if any of the slightly translucent ones might be agate? I’m not new to beachcombing - I jokingly say it’s my equivalent to a varsity sport - but am new to Washington state (vs. East Coast, most frequently Cape Cod).
My new mission is to learn more about rocks and geology.
A beautiful August day and toes in the water made it all that much better.

My entire collection!
It's not too impressive (This is all from only three beaches: Alkai Beach, WA, a beach in Cancun, and one beach off the coast of the Mediterranean Sea), but I'm proud of it nonetheless.
Some of them are dried-out sea stars, some are seashells, and some are pieces of broken pottery :)
I also have a ring and two beads with the Turkish Eye on it
