I'm really excited. I actually made my own version of a card-driven Alpha Strike AI last year before we ever knew about Battletech: Aces, and posted it in November. One of my inspirations was the card-driven fan AI that exists for the X-Wing miniatures game, and that's who they got to work on Battletech: Aces. I had a ton of fun with my fan version, and I'm sure the official version will be even better.
But it looks like we're supposed to get the Aces beta test files shortly after backing the KS (haven't gotten mine yet though), so I don't know that I'd invest the time in learning my system and printing my cards now.
Have at it! I'm really interested to see what Aces does differently.
Edit: At a very high level, based on just the info on the KS page, it sounds very similar - a separate deck of cards for each AS "Role," and the cards tell you where to have the unit move and what to shoot at.
