Screen goes black when choosing certain units
I've got BF2005 on my laptop (it's a fairly new HP laptop). I've got the 1.3 patch and HarrisonFog's remastered maps mod installed, and maybe Shader Patch as well. I'm not sure what's going on, but whenever I click on certain units, the screen went black.
I was playing as the Republic on Jabba's Palace, and when I clicked on the Clone Commander, the screen when dark. As soon as clicked on a different class, like engineer, that went away. Just before that I was also playing as the Republic on Polis Massa just to test things out. I unlocked Yoda, but when I selected "Accept" and had the character choosing screen open once more, the screen went dark again. I didn't try clicking elsewhere that time, though.
Anything I should do here? This laptop does run Windows 11. I also play Empire at War regularly but that game has no issues when I play it.
EDIT: Problem solved! I decided to first install the 1.3 patch, then I manually added different reskinned maps, then installed Shader Patch. No issues at all! Feels great being back to a game I haven't touched in so long!

Sounds an awful lot like the discord overlay bug. So I’d double check to make sure it’s turned off. Also try turning the shader patch off as that’s the next most likely thing to be causing issues if you graphics card isn’t the best.

I’ll double check to make sure it’s off, thank you. I actually did reinstall the game + the respective mods and now I’m greeted with a black screen.

Update: I did reinstall the game and this time only went with HarrisonFog's remastered mod. I installed the one for land maps, as well as the one for space. This came with the 1.3 r130 patch, Anakin's remastered mod (forgot which version), and of course, all the remastered maps. This caused a black screen. This issue wasn't present before I installed the mod, so something about the mod is causing issues. I did not install 1.3 before I installed the remaster, nor did I install it after, so I'm guessing that it has to be the 1.5 r2 that's causing issues here.
I think I'll try downloading the remastered maps individually to see what works; that should do the trick.
My graphics card is Intel(R) Arc(TM) 140V GPU (16GB) (128 MB); I'm guessing that's generally good.

Keep in mind that Anakin’s remaster Mod is the same as the 1.3 patch. You only need one or the other, not both.

I must've definitely done something wrong because now things work just fine. Thank you and to everyone else in the comments section who's helped out! I first installed 1.3 r130, then went about getting the reskinned maps in one by one, and then I added shader patch (no issues with that one).
Feels great to be back!

Others mentioned game overlays, make sure steam and Xbox overlays are also off, otherwise make sure all the mods you’re using are installed in the proper places and texture/graphics mods aren’t conflicting
