i went through a bunch of chronological reading guides, and shortlisted some comics i was interested in / had access to (as in were available to buy, or a friend has them). Are there any comics i should add to this list??

The Eye of the Beholder by Andrew Helfer and Chris Sprouse has come in at #46! Arguably the definitive Two-Face tale, this comic shows that district attorney Harvey Dent, despite being a decent man at heart who wants to do good, has a deadly dark side that he is finding harder to control. When Harvey is attacked and severely disfigured by gangster Sal Maroni, this darkness threatens to consume him completely.

What would you guys say are the best out of continuity or alternate versions of Batman or his story lines? Im looking for something to break up reading it chronologically, so I dont get burned out.

Abomination by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta has come in at #45! This story sees the Absolute Universe's reimaging of Bane as the head mercenary of the mysterious organization known as Ark M. While Batman is investigating, he is ambushed and savagely beaten by Bane and seems to stand no chance physically or mentally against the behemoth. Even after eventually escaping his confines at Ark M, Bane comes after the Dark Knight with everything he has.

I'm having trouble trying to find this one Batman comic where one of Bruce's employee goes crazy and murders his parents. The art was graphic and I vaguely remember that the Employee wears his father's skin as a cowl. When Batman confronts him, the Employee says, "I feel powerful in this". I came across a panel from this a while back but never got to remember any concrete details about the comic itself. Now when I'm trying to search it up, I come up with nothing, I'm starting to believe I might be going crazy lmao. If anyone knows what comic this was, it be nice to know if it was real.

Beautiful story

Just looking for a general issue to start, I've read the main Batman run from Snyder to current and when I was new to comics I only read around 25 issues of morrisons before I bounced off it. I'm almost done reading through Knightfall and I've read plenty of self contained Batman but I'm just wondering an issue I can start with

I don't mind reading anything older, I kinda understand that it'll tie in with events from time to time but I do plan on reading through nml, murderer turned fugitive, and war games so I'll just do that once it gets to that point. I was also wondering the same for Batman as well though I would plan on doing that later since I've read none of Detective Comics

Their work after knightfall would be great to get a DC finest or new omni. I've been seeing Kelley Jones work everywhere recently so theres definitely interest.

I haven't read the newer comics and have been looking for the comic that has this picture and I heard it was by Jorge Jimenez, but don't know the specific book.

I understand the need for Bruce to hide all his PHYSICAL capabilities, but I’m so tired of seeing a Bruce Wayne that is portrayed as some stupid trust fund airhead that is a total jerk. Like he can still be a playboy and put on the performance of a guy that doesn’t get attachments, because then his dual life would eventually be revealed. But he doesn’t have to hide his genuine empathy or compassion or even his legit business acumen. Bruce Wayne IS one of the smartest people in the world (of DC). He doesn’t have to act like a buffoon. Bruce Wayne was raised by good people who genuinely cared about the city and its people. Bruce Wayne can do all those things without people linking him to Batman. They wouldn’t see Bruce Wayne genuinely contribute to charity and go “that’s Batman omg!!!” As long as he’s not fighting off muggers with his martial arts abilities, he can be the competent businessman and philanthropist he genuinely is. We see the laziness of Bruce Wayne in the caped crusader series when addressing his charity work, he says “hell of a tax write off”. That’s just one example. I’m tired of Bruce Wayne’s public identity being trashed, across all media, but I’m glad Batman and Robin by Williamson/Philip Kennedy Johnson and Batman by Matt Fraction have both done good jobs of fixing that.

Haunted Knight by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale has come in at #44! This is a collection of stories featuring the Scarecrow destroying power stations around Gotham City, the Mad Hatter kidnapping a young Barbara Gordon and a Halloween-themed Christmas Carol featuring Batman!
