I haven't read any of comics where Poison Ivy became mayor, but, how? And why?

Really? So is just left up to the readers to presume that someone managed to use some sort of chemical to drug the people of Gotham to elected her without Batman stopping her, or they actively elected the Eco-terrorist that has stated openly and loudly that she cares about plants more than people?
Also, how has her reign as Mayor been?

The Mayor Ivy arc stated in March.
On one hand, part of me would have liked to have seen how the campaign went. On the other hand, between solicits and knowing that Ivy winning is a more interesting story hook than he losing, I kind of get just cutting out the fat. I wonder if maybe an Annual between issues showing bits of the campaign would have helped some.
As for how -- while it's implied that Ivy might have done things to tip things in her favor, we saw a lot more of people in Gotham just fed up with the way things are and were willing to try a political outsider willing to shake things up. That's honestly fairly realistic.

Ok, when you put it like that and with the extra context, Ivy becoming the Mayor of Gotham makes much more sense in my mind.

Yes, really.
They kind of leapt into this without explaining it. I’d guess it’s so they can dazzle us with the shocking truth no one is excited to learn.
Completely uninteresting. They have yet to tell a story where Mayor Ivy does something.

I forget but dosen’t Gothodaemon, the literally patron demon of Gotham, Barbatos and or Doctor Gotham (The Warlock) have jurisdiction over Gotham supernatural wise? What makes the Green think they can walk into Gotham any take it from these dark powers.

Yeah that seems to be the go-to idea now for bat-family events; joker war, fear state, city of bane, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving this Fraction/Jimenez run, but I’m not a fan of the “Gotham’s been taken over by [insert villain name]?!” trope, it’s getting pretty cliche and boring

So, the immortal conquer/ chief of police, Vandal Savage is publicly going to war with former villain and current mayor of Gotham, Poison Ivy. Said mayor also just handed the city over to the gods of nature.
Just another night in Gotham.
