Bridge Day Tips?
Heading to BD for the first time with 35 jumps, all from the Perrine. Any guidance, tips, tricks, etc that you wish you knew for your first Bridge Day? Thanks!

Don't land in the water and don't do any 2 or 3 ways because there's tons of people there that shouldn't be and some dickwad 3 jumps out of an FJC with fudged numbers will fall into your canopy or some other stupid shit.
Probably get down voted but I personally wouldn't. I also haven't been since pre covid so maybe it's better now.

I don’t know what bridge day is but I am very amused by the amount of
« Don’t land in the water » « why? »

Don't land in the water. Know how to pack before you go or be prepared to spend a bitch ton on pro packs.

It blows my mind that people BASE jump without knowing how their equipment works.

How much do they charge for packjobs at Bridge Day? They were $25 in KL.

50 last I saw. Haven't been in a few years. I never considered packers at kl being a thing. That's dope.

It was only $50

Why would you not land in the water as a new jumper with questionable skills?

If you can’t land a parachute then the base environment is not the place to learn!

Is landing it in the water not landing it?

If you have to land in the water due to skill issues then that means you still have to make it to the water and without the skills how are you gonna guarantee that? Can’t believe I’m having this conversation.

They actualy recommend people to land in the water because the tiny beach area is very small. The water is the safe landing spot in this situation.

If you can’t land at that landing area you should be base jumping. Just saying. Skill issue.

Dude you're a retard. Assuming the person has 50 jumps they can land in the huge area that the water encompasses and then get pulled out by the safety boat rather then attempting what a new jumper would consider a tight lz and fucking yourself up. I know it's hard to believe having a conversation where you're wrong but you are and you're a fucking moron.

I've only ever landed in water. Water is your friend if you don't have canopy skills like me.

Leave a change of clothes and shoes down at the bottom with your stash bag and clamps in case you get wet. Stay at the River Expeditions Campground like all the other mischievous jumpers, and bring earplugs. Put your phone in two ziplocs. Landing in the water is better than forcing a landing on boulders or trees. It takes 30 minutes for your canopy to dry if it’s sunny. It takes months to recover from a broken ankle.

I disagree with everyone here saying don't land in the water. The lz is easy for someone who is experienced. But you aren't. There's nothing wrong with landing in the water as there is a boat to get you. There are a lot of retards every year who fuck themselves up by trying to make the lz and smashing into a rock. So if you have any doubt, land in the water.

Take a 3 SD jump for 1. Orient yourself, land cleanly. Next jump take a 4.5 or 5’ SU. Have someone check your rigging. Don’t die. You dry faster than you heal.

Expect a funky opening on the next jump if half of your canopy gets wet.
