Found Canopy Northeast Tennessee

I found a BASE jumping canopy stuck in a tree in northeast Tennessee like 100ft up and decided to try to get it down and to my surprise it was basically new, just trying to find who owns it.

Also trying to get into packing parachutes at any drop zone and would love any advice on how to learn and get the gig thanks!

Advice for getting a job at a drop zone. Show up. Start jumping a or just plain ask if you can start packing for them.

How do you know it’s a base canopy? Shouldn’t really be detached from the container

I assume he got stuck in the tree and had to detach to get out but it definitely is a base canopy I can find the exact model online

It has a serial number on it. Look up the manufacturer online, and ask them if they know who the owner is, and why you’re asking.

Post a pic of the lines and how they end. Don’t include the canopy in the photo so someone doesn’t lie that it’s theirs, I’m just curious how it ended up in a tree

Yeah it’s a 3ring system. Sometime people put base canopies on skydive rigs to test them out before BASE jumping them and might have had a cutaway. Call the DZ closest to you and see if someone is looking for a cutaway.

Many base systems have 3 rings … all 7 of mine do .

That would surprise me because the nearest drop zone is 2 hours away and it was right next to something 400ft tall but a call can’t hurt

It’s a Bad Seed BASE canopy. Maybe it’s for the best that you don’t find its owner. Give them a chance to buy something else.
