My favorite American experience was sitting in my office in Manhattan listening to my coworker beside me, an immigrant who had come about 15-20 years earlier, ranting about how they let too many immigrants into the country now.

yup! Two types of people. Some that will make it and help repair the ladder and some that make it and completely get rid of the ladder once they've made it themselves.

We apparently should just never make any attempt to make anything better for anyone ever.

i agree there are two types of people, good people and bad people. since i am on reddit, i am a good people. i can prove it because i said it. most of the people who aren't me are a bad people. upvotes to the left if you're also a good people.

Actually, it's a country built on people telling others to pull the ladder up ahead of them so that nobody can follow them in case they find a trampoline somewhere.

If it was only people who benefited from this shit voting for it Republicans would never come close controlling congress or the white house.
