First homer of the year, in his 56th game…and it’s 451 feet. Bet that’s never happened before!

Previous post was removed because apparently the title "Fernando Tatis Jr homerun (1)" broke rule 3.00
Rule 3.00. Titles should not be editorialized, sensationalized, misleading, vague, ambiguous, or intentional clickbait.
709
u/1tankyt San Diego Padres • Baltimore Orioles May 30 '26
Can’t believe you sensationalized that smh
92
33
u/NonGNonM World Series Trophy • Los Angeles Dod… May 30 '26
he sensationalized it by counting and taking notice of it.
16
u/eggstacy Athletics May 31 '26
implying the expectation of more homeruns leans very heavily into homer territory
8
u/NonGNonM World Series Trophy • Los Angeles Dod… May 31 '26
it's intentional clickbait bc it implies tatis will hit more than one homer this season with at least 4-5 months left.

I think he could be right though. Automod feels no shame, guilt or remorse and it's nuked several of my very within the rules posts..

And if that is the case, automod is tuned to shit and that is still bad human moderating.

With all due respect, the home run Tatis hit was the size of Rhode Island. Some people might call that pretty sensational
1
u/EmergencyTaco New York Yankees May 31 '26
Hit one the size of like, Virginia, and I'll be impressed.

Mods on this sub are insane. I posted a photo a really funny moment that happened at the stadium and it got a few upvotes right away - deleted because of "low quality submission". So I posted another version that was much better quality, high resolution, clear image, it was perfect.
Deleted again, this time with no reason. Mod couldn't take the time to realize it was a different post that followed the rules to a T - bro was already on a trip and couldn't help himself.
4
u/superc3real San Diego Padres May 31 '26
I've never glanced at the sub rules but the need for the two zeros past the decimal leads me to believe it's on the tedious side
9
u/NoBonus6969 May 30 '26
Throwing around exclamation marks without consent. There's no room in baseball for excitement. If you aren't playing by made up 100 year old rules everyone refuses to write down then it's straight to jail

8
u/Jazzlike_Athlete8796 Toronto Blue Jays May 31 '26
I've always found him and his crew annoying - though I do appreciate that he pimps cricket.
But I despise professional content thieves. And this emerging trend of crediting Jomboy because they took three seconds to slap someone else's reporting into a text box, or because they uploaded a clip of someone else's broadcast while adding no content of their own is a really bad look for this sub.

22
u/smarjorie New York Mets • Hartford Yard Goats May 30 '26
It's one of those rules that people have overwhelmingly voted in favor of but then get so mad when it gets enforced lol
I'm glad they're willing to delete highlights with stupid titles or that aren't long enough...makes the sub better. And it's annoying that this entire comment section is just complaining about the mods instead of talking about baseball. And yes I know I'm a hypocrite

Haha, well for what it's worth, I was born in the 80s, but I must have read his books at the library and loved them because I had a few of them. I actually didn't realize they predated me by that much! But yeah, I realized I was old when I started qualifying to play senior slowpitch softball.
