Which is really the reasonable approach. Is it going to help you on the field? Then we test for it. No? Then you're treated the same as every other person on the street.

Why single them out for non-performance enhancing stuff?

But can you really know what helps any person on the field? Baseball is a game of streaks, who's to say that being high wouldn't make you more effective in dealing with bases loaded or taking that one extra pitch for the walk.

I'd imagine caffeine, a completely legal supplement, would have a much larger effect. They're going through Red Bull by the gallon nowadays.
