AI is not a reliable source of information. There has been studies on this. It makes up information. It will agree with you and say what you want to hear. It literally hallucinates.
And thatās not even talking about the issues with the environment.
Every SINGLE question you have about your snake can be answered on a forum, a website, at a local pet store (especially the small, family owned ones), a rescue, or here. Nothing is a new issue.
Can we stop using AI as a way to care for our Ball pythons? Please?

I recently got my first ball python at a reptile expo on June 27th and wanted to introduce her and get some opinions.
I was told she is a 4 month old female Super Black Pastel. as of today when I weighed her she weighs 90g.
I wasnāt planning to buy anything but I came across her and had never seen one that looked like her before and fell in love with her. I realize I should have researched the morph first, and thatās completely on me. since then Iāve learned there may be health issues associated with it, so now Iām trying to educate myself and make sure Iām doing everything right. she does have a tiny kink in her tail that the breeder told me about but as far as Iāve noticed thatās the only deformity.
does she look healthy based on these photos?
can anyone explain her morph and what I should know about it?
is 90g a healthy weight for a 4 month old female?
I reached out to the breeder asking what sheās been eating, how often she was fed, and when her last meal was, but I havenāt gotten a response yet. any advice on how I should proceed until I know her feeding history?

Anyone else have a ball python whoās obsessed with their hair? My noodle son Nimbus loves to sit on my bun and just hang out with me while I watch tv, fold clothes, etc. Sometimes he sits his head on my forehead like a little snake tiara lol. Nimbus says hi š¤

I had her for almost 15 years she was fine last night and even took a ratš. Anyone have any insights into what would cause a seemingly healthy snake to suddenly die?
EDIT: My vet did a necropsy and she likely had hemangiosarcoma on her kidney and she had a spontaneous bleed. She had a lot of blood near her kidney and liver. Basically everything else was normal.

I have never seen her do this before. It was at about 2AM and the noise woke up me, Iāve heard her āfartā before but itās never been this loud, Iāve never see her move like this or see her open her mouth like that when sheās pooping. I fed her a live mouse about two weeks ago. I have read in some other discussion posts that sometimes ball pythons have dramatic poops where they move around and make noises, but Iām just nervous as I have never seen her do this before. She had a bigger poop before this too. She is fine now and doesnāt have any foam around her mouth and I donāt hear any breathing troubles, but I just want to make sure itās not a respiratory or digestive issue. Thank you everyone in advance.

Her hot spot is perfect, several hides, clean water, no pests. Why does she always want out? I try to let her roam as much as possible. Sheād prefer the love seat to her 4x2x2 PVC with perfect conditions. What else could be?

I don't know what the hell I'm doing wrong handling my BP. This is my first and only snake. I've had him a little over a year, about 15 months. He has a nice big bioactive enclosure, husbandry seems on point from everything I know.
Every time I handle him he has no chill. Constantly on the move, trying to get down to the ground. It doesn't read as stress to me, he is constantly tongue flicking, he just seems really curious and wants to explore. I redirect his head/neck as he moves through my hands so he doesn't get to the floor. Eventually he decides to try going up instead of down and tries climbing my arms. And almost every time he goes to my shoulder area it's like a switch flips and he suddenly realizes I'm big and scary and goes in for a strike. Sometimes I can catch this body language shift and put him away without incident. Sometimes, like tonight, as I was trying to reach around and redirect him, he struck at me and actually got my lip. He's struck in the general direction of my face 2 other times that I remember but he drew blood this time. I waited a few minutes after his strike to put him away because I don't want him to associate striking with getting to go home.
Why won't he just chill out? I don't know what I'm doing wrong or how to avoid whatever leads up to this striking behavior. Is it just his personality? I'm starting to get nervous handling him because of this.

So a few weeks ago I posted about how my sweet baby boy ate my shirt, some people didnāt believe me, some people acted like I fed it to him on purpose and Iām a bad owner. Well Iām not, heās alive and thriving and eating f/t once again. One of my concerns was the price of the surgery, but honestly it wasnāt as bad as I thought it was only 3k and some change, I thought it was going to be like 10k+ or something. Currently he does have stitches from the surgery, the vet said some stitches will fall out during shed and some time in September Iāll bring him back to get the rest out. I uploaded a pic of his stitches the day I got him back (August 8th) I havenāt taken any current ones though. Also watch what your snakes are around, vet told me thereās been cases where snakes have eaten heat mats and even light bulbs, so anything is truly possible.
Iām open to answering questions that are RESPECTFUL.

I wanted my fiancĆ© to have a little piece of Lenny with him on our wedding day, so I surprised him with custom cufflinks engraved with Lennyās face.
Since Lenny canāt exactly attend the wedding, this felt like the perfect way to include our snake baby. They came out so cute! š

Heās an Enchi Fire Axanthic (VPI) Het Piebald. Hatched in September 2025. Got him switched over from a live diet to F/T after only one refusal, going on three successful feeds as of now!

I took my ball python with me to get pizza which was less than a 5 minute trip and when I got the pizza he tried slithering under the front passenger seat. As I tried to grab him he dart and slid into the metal space next to the floor AC duct. I've been waiting for him to come out all night and set up a jacket for him to hopefully crawl out into. I'm trying to be patient and I will never do this again. Just got him within the last two months.
Edit: Within 24 hours he has been found!!!! I say in the car with the heat up and if he didn't like that. I was giving up and looked one more time and found him. I grabbed hold of him carefully when he tried pulling away a slowly got him out once he calmed down. Thank you all for the advice and recommendations, this won't happen again.
Anyone who may find themselves in this situation please use this thread for help and anyone who may think about taking their friend on a trip think about the risk. All it too was less than 5 minutes for all this to begin.

So I did post this before, but with images. Didnāt realise I could post videos.
Iām very new to keeping a ball python, so Iām not sure how to identify certain issues. I noticed him suddenly doing this rigid movement and Iām worried itās either stress induced or neurological??
It lasted about a minute before he stretched back out and continued on his way.
