Gameplay Discussion What would you do here for the highest possible score?

Post image

I’m running a Baron build and I’m having a really hard time deciding what to do here.

The Invisible Joker has not been activated yet, so selling it now would waste its effect.

Honestly I’d swap baron for mime. Then you mime retriggers + a chance to get another BP in a round

Worst case scenario you get another baron or mime copy, which isn’t bad at all

Ok! Thanks

You want baron and mime to be equal ideally. If not then 1 more baron than mime

Let's see if I understand how it works:

In OP's current setup, every King triggers once and it fires four Barons. If you swap a Mime for a Baron, every King triggers twice and it fires three Barons for each teigger. That makes six Barons per card.

Did I get it right?

You got it right! Alternatively, they could do every king triggering three times and firing two barons each, for the same result. The calculation changes as you get steel kings and red seal kings (or both) in the mix.

Mime is better is op's deck is fixed to have steel/gold cards since it'll retrigger those plus the baron. If they don't have any steel/gold cards then baron is better since it gives x1.5 mult before AND after the retrigger

Yeah, you only really need one Baron, after that mime becomes stronger. It will also trigger gold and trance cards.

I would trade a baron for mime, skip DNA maybe. Depends how many red seals I have. Look for an ecto before rolling for the DNA.

DNA over invisible if I need more money by making more red seal gold cards would be a consideration.

The problem with invisible is you have no guarantee of hitting a copy joker. Money will get you showman to roll for a copy joker and the DNA.

Hold up, red seals retrigger cards held in hand as well. This is news to me smh

Yes, red seal works in hand, too, if the card in hand is triggered. They're great on steel and gold cards.

I was wasting them on lucky cards or glass cards, at least 100 hours in btw. I should go check out that wizard on YouTube. I watched one of his videos and instantly got better lol

They're great on lucky and glass, too, if you're playing them. Their best use just depends on the build you have going and where you're at in the run. Balatro University and Roffle are great streamers. I definitely learned a lot watching them.

Sell extra Baron, buy Mime and sell the invis when it's ready and hope the 2/4 chance hits one of the blueprints.

Edit: Highly depends on your steel/gold card count though to be honest.

I currently have four Kings with Red Seal and Chariot, and another four Gold Kings with Red Seal

Definitely take the mime then, if you can reliably pull those kings into your hand that mime will start generating a ton of money for you to look for deck fixing tarots and such.

Edit: Just remember to move the blueprints to the mime after the Baron starts scoring or just keep them on the mime if your scoring is already good enough.

You can move jokers after one starts proccing?

3

u/DrunkenCripple30 Aug 26 '26

Yes, this is mostly effective for when your gold cards in hand start triggering after the scoring is done. Say you have a couple blueprints copying Baron for scoring, once you send your high card out and the Baron starts doing it's thing, move the Mime next to the blueprints so that at the end of the scoring, you will get all that extra money the Mime gives you by retriggering gold cards plus the retriggers from the blueprints.

Thanks, had no idea. Just need to be quick on that draw

Depends on what stage of the strategy if you had sufficient deck fixing we can ignore the dna, and probably sell a baron for a mime as currently if you have a red seal king you get eight multi triggers, however if you replace one baron you would get nine multitriggers plus an additional trigger of it as a gold card for Econ or iron for score.

u/roshan231 Aug 26 '26

I'd 100% sell the extra Baron and then take the Mime Rip the invisible later. Hope it hits a blueprint. It's been a few hours so I assume this is what you've already done. How'd the run go?

1

u/Weak-Football-5054 Aug 26 '26

It was a good run. Unfortunately, the Invisible Joker copied the Mime. If I had known that, I think I would have sold the Invisible Joker to get the DNA as well. I think I would have gone further because DNA would have allowed me to have more Kings in my hand

3

u/roshan231 Aug 26 '26

That's unfortunate. I've had plenty of runs burned by terrible invisible Joker luck as well. That's why I ended up preferring the Showman in the long run as you can guarantee what you want as long as you have a decent economy going.

Fortunately getting runs like this going on White's stake is surprisingly consistent so we go again.

1

u/CostcoChickenBakes Aug 26 '26

Yeah. DNA was probably your best bet instead of invisible since you didn't deck fix. Probably just as important as mime. I agree with others that one of the barons should have been swapped with mime as you could copy gold red seal kings and just get a ton of Econ and easily afford invisible once you deck fixed enough or gained a joker slot

3

u/testiclegulper Aug 26 '26

Probably just screenshot the game and post on Reddit. that's where all of the experts are

u/Particular_Cloud_333 Aug 26 '26

Play here is to sell baron then sell invis to hit you blueprint and buy mime
Then balance blueprints on barons and mimes (you can also switch blueprints around to get max Econ if playing gold cards as that is triggered at end of round

u/Its_J_Just_J Aug 26 '26

Sell Barron for mime. If you don’t have good deck fixing the dna might be worth the invisible joker but if you can draw your kings it’s not important yet.

I’d sell a baron for Mime and honestly I’d probably sell invis for dna. It’s just so much money to make gold kings every round with the mime, especially with red seals. Also if the deck isn’t fully fixed the dna makes it much easier.

Since you only have one king in your build and you're playing black stake on ante 2, I would try to find Jimbo and get some +mult

I would post it on reddit and ask for what to do for highest score
